Irwin888 I agree, the AI in F.E.A.R. was great, they would harass you if you were hiding in cover, they would throw grenades over obstacles, flank you while the others were pinning you down with covering fire and were generally much more agressive as you would expect them to be considering they outnumber the player. Whereas in most games the AI will stay in the same position of cover and keep leaning out the same way each time to fire, reload and repeat, it was awesome to see the enemies constantly moving and trying to flank me and i really got my butt kicked a few times. I was really impressed with the AI in that game, it was brutal at times but it added much more to the game than the sum of its parts imo. Sadly AI is still behind Graphics, Story, Advertising, Gimmicks etc in the list of priorities for games these days, Devs would rather simply put more enemies up against the player instead of making the existing enemies smarter and more difficult to beat.
@SageAnomie Developers only concentrate on console's because it is much harder for people to pirate games on consoles compared to PC's. The reason PC gaming is lagging is because with higher internet speeds and better knowledge of computers more and more people find it easy to torrent games for free on the PC whereas they would have to buy it on console, which means they make alot more profit from consoles. The ease of use and generally low price of consoles are another factor.
Who the hell cares about the minute differences between 360 and PS3???? If you really do care about graphics go and build yourself a gaming computer and play games how they were meant to be played. The only way to choose between the 2 is to look at the exclusive games for each console, the online aspects (360 wins) and the price. For me it was the xbox 360, no competition there really, for me anyway. I went for the 360 for racing/sports games and a gaming PC for FPS/RTS games.
yes often, while im playing games i think to myself "you kno what?, shooting zombies and blowing stuff to pieces would realy be alot better if it had som mor pixels!" i think alot of you guys are real sad arguing about this juvinile and pointless subject. id like to think that most people have enough sense to look further into what a console has to offer than just a 0.1% increase in graphical quality. there is a lot more to games and why you should choose a certain console, such as which has the most appealing exclusive games, which has the best online capabilities and which is likely to improve most in the future. you guys are mostly just graphic wh*res that probably never appreciate a game for all that it has to offer. you guys probably had no fun playing wii sports for the first times with a group of friends "assuming you have some" because you would like a few more times anti-aliasing and some "uber" cool lighting effects. fan boys realy need to get a life you cant compare exclusive games, you cant say that xbox 360 is best because bioshock has great graphics or that ps3 pwns because metal gear solid looks amazing, because they are not comparable. finishing point being...play a GAME not a CONSOLE.
