@TheEroica: It's a combo of all of them.
Nintendo has mixed Console and Handheld into one, which is nice BUT it really limits the devices power compared to the competition and PC. So it doesn't get a lot of other games which makes it less competitive in the console space.....and Nintendo once again seems to have the Nintendo Drought going on.
Sony is definitely the console market leader and it's going to their head with anti consumer practices and prices increases on everything.
MS is once again trying to buy and bully their way into an industry, making it more consolidated with less competition (yes more independent gaming companies is a good thing, it's competition), they can't seem to make a good MS studio game AT ALL, and to top it all off they don't even seem to want to make consoles anymore and are leaning towards multiplat and software options.
and dude no. Not everyone is going to start building PC rigs or buying them. I don't want to game on a windows platform, sorry no thank you. I've done it, and It's not for me. I want the game to work damn near 100% of the time, and I'm sorry Windows prevents that from happening. I don't want work arounds or custom software to make stuff work. I want a big TV, surround sound, a controller, and the game to fire up and work with all that.
I blame MS for essentially giving up the console space.
They have admitted they lost the console race, they seem to be moving to gamepass, cloud, multiplatform options, and the worst of all.....most of the game released by MS studios have been GARBAGE!!!!!!
Can MS just fund SEGA making a new console?
I assume that PS5 owners have more disposable income to afford 120 fps-capable TVs
Damn near every single mid-range TV is capable of 120Hz. Heck, the best budget TV can still do 120Hz at 1440p.
The challenge is many people buy low-end TVs and they last like 7 -10 years.
Really depends on what you mean by mid range. $400-$500 don't really support it. It's still 60HZ.
Anything under $400 is definitely not mid range and does not support 120HZ
Most people care about size and resolution (4K etc) HDR, Full Array, OLED, Mini LED 120HZ don't really cross the minds of that many people
It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it; I don't think you're going to get a concrete answer here.
A nice opened dreamcast is like $100 plus or minus a few dollars. So a new one sealed in box realistically may only be worth like a few hundred more. The value is that it stays sealed, so you'll have to find a buyer that never wants it opened, maybe a sealed game collector for Dreamcast?
Plus, you need to figure out if it was a 9/9/99 release model, I know those are sought after a little more.
Ebay it or go to a retro gaming convention and put it up for auction
I'm pretty sure I was playing Half Life then, funnily enough I'm still playing Half Life now.
About the Dreamcast: it's kinda weird but when I look up "best games on dreamcast" it always focusses on the exclusives, of which Dreamcast had a rather weak amount, but for me the strength often lies in the great ports that it had. It often had the best version of third party games (as other consoles were weaker at the time)
For a console it also got a lot (and I really mean a lot) of FPS ports from PC. But I heard it had that weird control style? Where the right side of the controller was used to move around and the left side of the controller/analogue stick was used to aim?
Anyone have experience with playign FPS on Dreamcast and how did that feel?
The dreamcast truly shined with Arcade ports. It was a major strength and I wish Sega leaned into it more, but games were starting to venture into narrative/action adventure territory. Which Sega was struggling with, outside a few games like Shenmue.
HydroThunder
San Francisco Rush
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
Marvel vs Capcom
Crazy Taxi
And so many more arcade ports, that were better than the ps1, n64, and even PS2 versions.
No!
Astro Bot was well made and well received by gamers. SP game without the BS that comes with it is why GS gave it a fair score.
Halo Infinite was also well received with a great campaign with great gameplay and good MP. The only thing holding back from Infinite is the lack of MP content, that's it.
Seriously, GTFO with that GS conspiracy saying they have an agenda for either side. If MS were to make an actual good Banjo/Kazooie game and it was done right, it would get a fair score but MS themselves would have to earn it had it been done on the same level as Astro Bot.
This 100% Can apply to other games as well.
Even though GS gave Starfield a 7, a lot of other sites gave it 8 or 9's.
The PROBLEM with Infinite and Starfield, is that they are shallow and once the new wares off, people start to really see the games for what they are.
They are good first impression games, but they don't have any staying power, and this is on the Devs and MS.
Found a physical copy of Bomb Rush Cyber Funk!!! going to play that
This is being mis quoted and mis-interpreted all over.
At the end of the quote it states "ANY ISSUES RAISED TO US"
Meaning if the developer is having issues, they haven't reached out to Microsoft about it.
It doesn't mean they aren't working on it, but if they are trying to figure out the issue, then they have not reached out to Microsoft for help.
Astro bot is the best mario game ever made.
Okami is the best zelda game ever made.
Ummmm Okami is a chore to get through in the beginning.....so much dialogue. I remember people saying this but after BOTW Im not sure Okami is the best Zelda game anymore.
I love Okami
