@Dark_Rage Guess it never once occurred to you that it may be deserving of the score. To me seeing a 10 on this says a lot, since this genre as a whole seems repetitive and button mash-y at times.
@foxbat_prime Not that number scores matter... at all... but if ever there was a game deserving of a 9 it is this one. Play it and you'll see, or else your opinion won't change and then unfortunately you are missing out. No matter.
@ArabrockermanX Yeah the console versions are a bit more friendly to newer players, though without mods they lack a lot of the depth that the pc version has. Considering how much depth the base game has however... you won't miss it.
@Aaronp2k Ironic then that the graphical style is part of what makes this game so charming and so wildly popular. Shame you don't like it, but you are missing out, and indeed it is one of the few games that is worth way more than the $15-20 dollars that you pay for it, which is pocket change basically.
@forbiddenmow I look at this game as more of it's own thing but set in the world Tolkien created. At the end of the day Tolkien really was an excellent philologist who crafted a very deep world, but his storytelling as a whole is lacking. I would argue that this makes the world he created open to creative use by others. Best to not be so dramatic anyway in general...
@vadagar1 Objectively Harry Potter does have a few good games. 1 and 2 on the GBC and 3 on the GBA are great rpgs that follow the story very closely, and then 2 and 3 on the GC/PS2/Xbox are also more than decent.
@Kinguard73 Generally it's the pc fanboys who refuse to see reason, so you do "console fanboys" an injustice by also refusing to see reason. MMOs are better suited to pcs, it's just a fact. Obviously it would be nice for them to have a console version and to have a PS4 or whatever support mouse and kb, and there's really no reason they couldn't do that, but I just doubt they will. I do miss the days of console only MMOs such as the wonderful EQOA, but alas, it was not meant to be.
@youre_a_sheep @Bensonator I think it's probably another one of those games that is more about the experience of the emotions that it evokes as opposed to the gameplay. Not surprised that you thought it was overrated. /shrug
