Oh whaaat? A review by Carolyn for a near-perfect game and it only gets an 8? The injustice! So many children are gonna be in such rage over this. We all know that number scores are the ONLY thing that matter, and how dare she have her own opinion on something!

@001011000101101 Sort of like that 8 out of 10 they gave some game a while back and it literally had no cons listed, not even any mention of any negative aspects in the review. So the moral of the story should be: number scores do... not... matter.

@LancerVI Puppeteer was a great suggestion actually, and might be a better recommendation than Child of Light. Puppeteer seems to have been designed with a parent in mind, as the game is setup specifically for one adult and one child to play simultaneously, and in fact the game is much more enjoyable when it is played like that. On top of that it has such a cinematic, brilliant look to it that it is immediately enjoyable. Might be a bit easier to manage than Child of Light.

Holy hell, I mean I love this series, in fact I love everything Telltale makes. But what in the hell is up with the frame rate issues? It's incredibly distracting when you're trying to play through this for the first time, when the action freezes to swap to another scene it just makes it hard to stay immersed. Is there really no way to fix this? I thought it was just a simple issue of re-installing it but it didn't seem to help.

@Gelugon_baat @RobDev Each one of these carries a standalone price tag in case you didn't bother to look.

@robbiejones Me either, going out to pick it up tomorrow if I can find the LImited Edition that doesn't have the scary X-2 chick on the front.

@derclub9067 My best friend seems a bit like you. He harps on about how a game is only good if it firmly establishes every little detail in the world in which it is represented, so he would nitpick about Tidus being able to breathe indefinitely without explanation, and he would let such a minor thing mar the overall experience. I on the other hand would not, which is why I'm trucking my way through Kingdom Hearts right now despite thinking that the series as a whole seemed pretty ridiculous before I started playing it. Had I remained in such a mindset, or quit playing soon after starting and being frustrated with a few unexplained aspects, I'd have missed out on such a wonderful game. My best friend is only impressed with the likes of Dragon Age, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, and ultimately in the end he will end up missing out on a great number of amazing games because of his inability to find something beautiful amongst the "flaws".

@Kevin-V Every day is a struggle to live with the memory of renting X-2 from Blockbuster when I was like 12 or 13. That was my first foray into the FF series...

Since I'm actually semi-intelligent I know that number scores don't matter, but even I'd probably take 2 points off just for it having X-2 packaged with it. *shudders*

@abcdefgabcdefgz Not to defend this game's length but it's entirely possible for a game to cost 20-30 bucks, be only a few hours long, and still be really good. Journey is the best example, and it got an 8 or 9, which it well deserved. Also score doesn't matter, don't labor under the delusion that anything but the pros and cons are even remotely important.
