The European theatre, preferably the Eastern front... The Western front would be my second choice, i would love to storm the beaches of Normandy. I'm talking about a simulation of course, if there is a real chance of dying then no way Jose i'm staying put.

Since I haven't pulled one text scripture out of the entirety of the message...you can't accuse me of quote mining.:|LJS9502_basic
Why don't you just admit you're wrong so we can skip all this nonsense, it's the christian thing to do. Matthew 23-1:3 clearly shows that Jesus instructed people to follow the old testament to. How is that quote mining and why are you contunually objecting to it when the majority of the Christian people and even Jesus disagree with you?
I think too many expect that Christianity follows Judaic laws and customs.LJS9502_basic
Well, Christianity did originate as a Jewish sect and if people believe that the bible is the word of god it's only logical that they would follow both the OT and the NT, not just the part that suits them.

Matthew 23:1-3 is a denunciation of the scribes and pharisees (which I mentioned). It was also included to show a division between Judaism, pharisees, and Matthews teaching.LJS9502_basic
Who's quote mining over here? Why didn't you comment the part where he says that people should follow what the pharisees preach, or the part where he says that he will fulfill the old testament (Law or Law of the Prophets)...

It's genocide, and admitting it won't make you less American.

[QUOTE="Stavrogin_"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] Simple. Judaism and Christianity are two distinct religions that do have the same rules, regulations, laws or beliefs.LJS9502_basic
Even Jesus disagrees with you on this one.

Does he? He didn't see eye to eye with the pharisees or Jewish religious leaders. He also changed some of the Mosaic laws.

He has also said that his intent is not to abolish the old testament (Matthew 5:17-18 ) but to fulfill it, he also commanded people to follow what the pharisees preach but not what they do (Matthew 23:1-3) ergo Jesus disagrees with you.

No i would not drop the bomb.. bombs are cowardly and gun on gun combat is the way to go...if you cant win in close quarter combat then you shouldnt fight period.

cee1gee
I wouldn't drop it either, but one might argue that guns are cowardly too and the only fair way to go is hand-to-hand combat with no armor or equipment. Everything else is cowardly.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Then the answer you should have given is that Christianity is not violent....people are. The OT is not the NT and vice versa. Two different messages...not a contradiction.

Christianity has violence in it, but that's the OT not the NT, although in my opinion that should not excuse it from responsibility. Like i said before the OT is a part of Christianity whether you like it or not. So let me put it this way, the message of Jesus was not violent, far from it, it was very peaceful but the old testament on the other hand is very violent. Both are a part of that religion. So...
