I'm Back (The Sequel)

I'm still alive...I think. Wow, I can't believe it has been almost a year since I last posted. I've been through a lot this year. I'm currently recovering from video game addiction. Yes, that's right, there is such a thing. The moral? Don't spend money that you don't have! On the upside, I was able to pick up a few big titles this year... Twisted Metal (9/10) Mortal Kombat: The Komplete Edition (9/10) Prototype 2 (7/10) Sleeping Dogs (8/10) Doom 3: BFG Edition (N/A) Hope all is well with my readers. -Peace

Christmas to All!

Merry Christmas folks.

Still enjoying my 3DS. One of my other relatives got me Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for PS3. Can't wait to play it!

Hope you guys got something great!

Plunge into 3D

Well, for certain reasons, my family and I decided to celebrate Christmas early. Not the whole family and eating portion, but the ripping open presents portion. I am happy to say...

I HAVE A RED 3DS!! WHOO!!

My step-mother, God love her, got me a red 3DS along with Ocarina of Time 3D and Rayman 3D! For the first time in years, I can say I got what I wanted for Christmas. lol

Unleashing an Opinion

After months of rehabilitation over the matter, I've completely regained my love and respect for the Sonic franchise. With that said, I still will forever reject the Wii storybook games.

So what caused me to give Sonic another chance? Three reasons.

First off, the recent successes of Colors and Generations. I haven't played either yet, but I will. It seems the industry is taking a huge liking to both titles. Good work SEGA.

Next, the Archie comic series. I dusted off my old collection of the long-running series, and found myself enjoying old memories. Sure, it's a different canon from the games and suffers from some serious mellodrama from time to time, but still enjoyable.

Third and finally, Sonic Unleashed. This is where I unleash my opinion! Get it?! lol

I went back and played Unleashed and I mean played it all the way through. My question...

HOW THE KCUF DID THIS GAME GET BAD PRESS?!!!

Yes, I understand that the Werehog levels were long, but they weren't exactly bad! The hedgehog levels were fast and fun! The graphics were great and the music was some of the best in the franchise! I go as far as to say that this was one of the best Sonic games.

More of a rant than a persuasion, but you get the picture. Sonic Unleashed was excellent in my opinion, the first big step in the right direction. Nuff said.

Tracks Tracks and Tracks

Finally be able to charge up my DS, I picked up a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

Just saying...it has become one of my favorite Zelda games. Go check it out if you're not in bed with Skyward Sword.

November Dreams

Once again it's the biggest month in Gaming. November once again gives us the most anticipated titles of the year!

Rayman Origins

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (which I don't care for)

Super Mario 3D Land

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Legend of Zelda: Skyrim

Saints Row: The Third (don't care for either)

Sonic Generations

It's a shame I'm still jobless and have no true way to get any of these amazing games. Sigh...you ever wonder if it's all worth it? Being a gamer is great, but it always seems like when the best games are released, money is scarce.

Well, when the money starts flowing (hopefully soon) I'll be rewinding and getting most of the titles listed above. I also cannot wait for 2012. Tis gonna be a great year for games.

Twisted Metal

Bioshock Infinite

Hitman: Absolution

Silent Hill: Downpour

Grand Theft Auto V

Assassin's Creed 5

Luigi's Mansion 2

I can keep busy until then. I just recently beat Assassin's Creed 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum. I've decided to go back and play Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition, and some titles on my Nintendo 64.

Keeping sanity in today's economy is NOT easy.

Rant Time: Grand Theft Auto V

I haven't done a rant in a while, but you should know by now that when I do, something is up! However, I am saddened to say that since I'm not that popular here on GS, my point won't get through as strongly. Oh well, I'm gonna b!tch anyway!

So as you know, Grand Theft Auto V debuted with a bang yesterday! With one minute and twenty-four seconds of pure, awesome video, we the fans got to see the oh so delicious future!

With the debut trailer, there has been a lot of speculation over who the protagonist is. Rumor has it that this time around, we may be using more than one main character. I'm totally fine with that. That is not what I'm here to vent over. My concern is with the fans and how well they know the GTA canon...which in many cases is very little.

Two men appear in the trailer that have caused an uproar of hope and speculation. One appears to be an older version of Tommy Vercetti (GTA: Vice City) and the other looks like Carl "CJ" Johnson (GTA: San Andreas).

If these two are the men everyone claims they are, I have no problem with that. That gives me hope that perhaps my favorite protagonist Claude (GTAIII) may appear as well.

I'm gonna stop beating around the bush. I've been reading fan comments and listening to commentary from GS and IGN, and this is what I've mainly been seeing...

"Why would Tommy move from Vice City to Los Santos for the weather?"

"Tommy has kids?"

"Shouldn't CJ look older?"

Ok folks, Dan Houser doesn't write these amazing stories just for you to ignore them, and the masters at Rockstar don't do interviews for you to just drool at.

GTA 4 AND 5 ARE IN A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE THAN VICE CITY AND SAN ANDREAS!!

Rockstar has said it again and again that GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas are not in the same universe as GTAIV. If these guys ARE Tommy and CJ, then they will be totally different characters from who they were in the previous GTA storyline. Hell, if Claude is in GTAV, he may talk this time! I highly doubt that Dan Houser would write something lazy like "Oh the three major cities decided to mass rebuild, and Tommy decides to move to Los Santos for the SAME WEATHER AS VICE CITY!"

GTA1 Universe: Grand Theft Auto, GTA London 1969

GTA2 Universe: Grand Theft Auto 2

GTA3 Universe: Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, GTA Advance

GTA4 Universe: Grand Theft Auto 4, GTA The Lost and Damned, GTA The Ballad of Gay Tony, GTA Chinatown Wars, Grand Theft Auto 5

I really hate to be that douche that points every technical thing out, but when it comes to my favorite franchises, I am very protective of continuity.

Peace.

West to Los Santos

Just watched the debut trailer to Grand Theft Auto V...and while I'd rather have Vice City over returning to Los Santos, I am still more than satisfied.

Down Vice City Way

If you looked at my blog yesterday, you can tell I am very hyped by the announcement of Grand Theft Auto Auto V! The GTA series is one of my favorites, third only to Mortal Kombat and Hitman.

First off, I am loving the logo! If you haven't seen it yet, SHAME ON YOU!! lol

There are currently many discussion articles on IGN over the announcement. Fans are voicing what they wanna see in the game.

This is what I have to say. Many fans were disappointed by the realism exhibited by GTAIV and its expansions. They want GTAV to return to the over-the-top antics of San Andreas.

Personally, San Andreas is my least favorite game in the series. I LOVED GTAIV! To me, the realism of Liberty City in that game proved what video games can do, and I welcome its return in GTAV. This is Grand Theft Auto, not Saints Row.

Another discussion of late is whether or not GTAV should use the Motion Scan tech that LA Noire used. Now I did watch my friend play LA Noire once. I wasn't really that impressed, as I didn't see much of a difference in the facial animations. With that said, I could care less whether Rockstar uses it or not. I already know the characters will be memorable with or without the most realistic of faces.

I cannot wait. 2012 is gonna be a great year for games!
