Santa Claus

We all know Christmas is coming soon and with Christmas comes Santa Claus.

Santa Claus (also known as Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, Papá Noel (Weihnachtsmann in German, Noel Father in Spanish, Papai Noel Noel Father in Portuguese, De Kerstman in Dutch, Joulupukki in Finnish, or simply Santa) is a character in North American, British, Brazilian and other cultures who gives presents to children on Christmas Day.
Conventionally Santa Claus is portrayed as a kindly, round-bellied, merry, bespectacled man in a red coat trimmed with white fur, with a long white beard. On Christmas Eve, he rides in his flying sleigh lifted by reindeer from house to house to give presents to children. To get inside the house, he comes down the chimney and lands in the fireplace. During the rest of the year he lives together with his wife Mrs. Claus and his elves who serve as his toy production staff. His home is usually given as either the North Pole in the US and Canada, Korvatunturi in Finnish Lapland, Dalecarlia in Sweden, Greenland, or Caesarea when identified as Saint Basil; traditions vary.

Note that during the Christmas season you will get Santa look alikes such as this guy:

Please if you see him lock the doors immediately and call the cops! For the true Santa looks something like this guy:

Definately the real Santa would look something like this. Yea I know, your probably thinking "Is this guy cracked? Santa doesn't exist!" If comic fans can dress up like their favorite comic book hero/villain and meet together annually, then I can believe in Santa even though I know he is not real. Personally the myth of Santa Claus gave children an extra reason to be good little boys and girls, especially nearing the holiday season. I'd welcome more lies like Santa Claus any day.

Note: I am not insulting comic book fans since I will forever love comics.

O well, i'll sing some carols until christmas comes.

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer
Pullin' on the reins
Bells are ringin', children singin'
All is merry and bright
Hang your stockings and say your prayers
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
He's got a bag that's filled with toys
For boys and girls again
Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle,
Oh what a beautiful sight
So jump in bed and cover your head
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
He doesn't care if you're rich or poor
He loves you just the same
Santa Claus knows we're all Gods children
That makes everything right
So fill your hearts with Christmas cheer
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus lane
He'll come around when the chimes ring out
That it's Christmas morn again
Peace on earth will come to all
It we just follow the light
So lets give thanks to the lord above
That Santa Claus comes tonight!

TV for me in the 90's. Not all but just what I could remember.

Why is time moving so slow tonight? I don't know but it gave me time to recheck a past blog.

"Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers, the next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house like a lot of other houses, a yard like a lot of other yards, on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back, with wonder." -Kevin Arnold

In reference to animation, I think 'IT WAS BETTER DURING THE 90's!' In the 90's I could tune into Cartoon Network and watch programs ranging from Scooby Doo (the classic one, not the one with Scrappy Doo, honestly he sucked) to Dexter's Laboratory(the older episodes not the new ones they added that sucked) to Samurai Jack.
For Disney there were great shows ranging from Ducktales to Tale Spin to Gargoyles.
Nickelodeon had Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, etc. Truly though I listed the shows that stood out to me, I'm sure everyone has their list of favorites from at least one of those networks if not all. (Even my mom had hers.) Plus their was also shows I watched on other networks as well such as Bobby's World on Fox Kids.

These were what I watched basically {not in any particular order}:

Looney Tunes
Centurions
The Muppets Show

He-Man
Transformers
Mighty Max
Street Sharks
Tazmania- Sucked for almost everyone except me.
Dinosaurs was an animatronics show.
Clarissa Explains it all.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch
Alex Mack
The Adventures of Pete and Pete

There was also Boy Meets World,The Addams Family, The Cosby Show, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Home Improvement. Plus I watched shows on Nick@Nite such as;

I Love Lucy
Happy Days
Get Smart
The Beverly Hillbillies
Mary Tyler Moore
I Dream of Jeannie
Lavern & Shirley
The Wonder Years
Bewitched
The Jeffersons
The Brady Bunch

I strongly believe that these networks were taken over by hippies. Or they just cracked under the pressure of ratings and are being brainwashed to produce the mindless crap they are producing today. Or maybe the machine used to determine ratings has been malfunctioning for all these years. Or maybe it was the...PARENTS!!!

I loved the old shows. HELL WAITS FOR THE PRODUCERS OF THE NEW SHOWS!

Music & Me- What I've had the joy of hearing before

If I had one wish that would be probably to sample every kind of music and to be able to properly identify each different kind. So I think i'll make a list of all I've heard so far and some of the artist's I've heard. I excluded all forms of rap since musicians seem to get offended if I mention any form of rap.

Starting with my favorite kind of music:

Junkanoo: I am from the Bahamas. Junkanoo is a musical festival that happens about 3 times within the year. Junkanoo groups take to the streets in a competition that entertains the crowds. They dance, parade around in costumes, play instruments such as cowbells, goatskin drums, along with many other instruments. Though this competition last for about 6-7 hours, the loud musical vibrations and the contageous sounds keep you up and dancing to the beat.Traditional Christmas Music: Always great during the christmas season, no Christmas is complete for me without it.

Rake & Scrape: Another form of music associated with The Bahamas. Though not done on larger islands such as Nassau or Grand Bahama, it is done more frequently on the smaller islands of The Bahamas. It involves the use of a handsaw, joined by many other instruments. The person who plays the handsaw usually rakes something like a knife (I used a hangar one time, though it didnt sound as nice) up and down. The music blends in nice accompanied by other instruments. Cat Island is the largest island that does this.

Reggae: Bob Marley, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Jah Cure, Warrior King, Beenie Man, Fantah Mojah, Anthony B, Capleton, Beres Hammond, Jah Mason, Chuck Fender, Elephant Man, T.O.K, Gyptian, Levy Barrington, Damian Marley, Maxi Priest, Gentleman, Morgan Herittage, Shaggy, etc.

Never really understood Alternative Rock so someone else explain it for me.

Surf Music(Pardon me if it's not the correct name): The Beach Boys

Rock & Roll: Elvis Presley, Louis Jordan, Bill Haley, Little Richard, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones

Grunge Rock: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains

Post Grunge or as I call it grungieness: Creed, Weezer, Staind, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down

Indie Music? I still can't recognize it but someone told me Liz Phair sings Indie Music or Indie Rock, personally I don't Care. Her style of music is cool.

Punk Rock woohooo!: Green Day, The Offspring, Sum 41, Three Dollar Bill, Pennywise. So sue me, I don't listen to too much Punk Rock.

Hard Rock: Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen (Some of these bands/artist can be seen as Early Heavy Metalist...bah!)

Heavy Metal and all the genres that stem from it. Sorry don't like it at all.

Blues: B. B. King, The Blues Brothers, wish radio stations played more blues, but o well.

Jazz: Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, King Oliver.

Anyone ever had the chance to hear rag-time? I think i've heard it before not really sure.

Jazz Orchestra's/Big Bands/Orchestra's: Don't know a band for this music but this type of music rules. I will include Classical Music in this as well.

Opera: I must be one of the few young people in my country that has a taste for Opera. Personally I view Opera's as a story with music and it's very interresting. No Opera's are over here though. I've seen maybe a clip or two from my former music teacher.

Rhythm & Blues/R&B: Johnny Otis, Ray Charles(a true multi-talented genius), Aaliyah, Yolanda Adams (yes she blends both gospel and R&B), Destiny Childs, Mario Winnans, Luthor Vandross, Smokey Robinson & the miracles, Omarion, Nelly, Monica, Brandy, and so much more.

Soft Rock/Pop: Madonna, Mariah Carey, Brittney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hillary Duff, Lindsy Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, etc.

Soul: The Commodores, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, The Isley Brothers, The Jackson 5, Ike & Tina Turner, Barry White, Pattie LaBelle and so much more. Ray Charles (a true multi-talented genius).

Gospel: CeCe Winnans, BeBe Winnans, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Shirley Caesar, Andre Crouch, etc.

There is still so much music out there and one day hopeful I would have heard every kind. I'd really like to hear different variations of traditional Chinese music someday.

M.i.a

I'm sick. It's been over 4 days or so and the swelling in my eyes are just going down. See you all when i'm better.

Give me English or Give me Death!!!

Boomerang is really ticking me off. I'm glad they are showing some Christmas specials/episodes but most of the time I just want to scream when they bring on My Little Pony. Wdf they never speak Spanish whenever My Little Pony is on but anytime its time for Garfield and Friends to come on, for some reason the network starts speaking Spanish or whatever the heck they're speaking. This is discrimination considering I can't speak Spanish and Garfield I wanna watch. Is this happening to anyone else?

If Santa was real what would you ask for?

I hate receiving gifts for Christmas but honestly if Santa was real I'd be asking for one thing and one thing only. That one thing is a remote. Person 1: WDF you'd waste Santa's time asking for a remote? Me: Yes! I don't want an ordinary remote though. I want a remote that allows me to add and remove programs off of tv. This remote would message me anytime my favorite Christmas specials are on. I'd be able to switch places with the actor during those love scenes. Last but not least I'd be able to eat the food I see on tv.

Good Friends! How IGN Cheered Me Up Today!

Keep in mind that I am eventually getting all three consoles, but if I dont get a 360 it wouldn't even bother me. Today marked the day of the Xbox360's launch. I'm not crying because I didn't get one, I'm not crying because I'm a PS3/Revolution fan...mostly PS3, but the reason I'm crying is because I gotta actually wait for the PS3 [Console I want above all else] to be released.:cry::cry: Yea Xbox360 fans are probably thinking they have this one in the bag, but luckily I can always rely on IGN to cheer me up. Luckily this was just the pick me upper I needed.
