Being that I hardly game on my PC anymore (it doesnt have a good location at my new house) I'm excited for a new consoles with better graphics, features, and of course games.

But if I had to choose right now between games and graphics I'd take the games. I still find myself catching up with great titles I've missed, and playing "lower end" games like Trine and Pinball just as much as AAA titles. We don't need a new gen just yet. We need new IP's and the rebirth of some old ones ( Hello Lucasarts???)

Just keep making good games for now. I still haven't found a reason to buy an Xbox 360 yet. Halo 4 looks great, but it's not enough.

[QUOTE="LastRambo341"][QUOTE="Stratacoustic"]

These Wii U ports don't look much better then current gen, and look worse then their PC counterparts with AA and Physix in Batman. I remember when I had to attach a 3D video card to my 2D card to play Dark Forces 2, Half Life 2 came out, Doom 3, Crysis, World In Conflict, and then Battlefield 3. Each time these jumps made people's gaming systems and wallets cry.

There is nothing like that right now and hasn't been other then BF3 for years.

Also, as my picutre noted, the Wii U is coming out between generations (just like Dreamcast did). That's a horrible plan, especially this far ahead of it's competition. Nintendo has the software (just as Sega did), and the money (that Sega didn't). They'd be best off at this point going Sega's router and save the money on hardware and develop software only. They'd make billions in profit.

Next gen started. The LAUNCH games look like ps3 and 360 games but wait for a few years ;)

why do we have to wait a few years? 360 launch games looked far better than ps2 and xbox games

That is assuming they still have 3rd party support in a few years. Alot of Devs are going to drop support on this machine within the 2nd year. Or they will just port what they have for use with the Pro Controller, essentially rendering the 'feature' of the Wii U useless. It will shine bright this Christmas because Nintendo is the generic name in gaming that everyone human knows, then after GDC or E3 2013 it will live in the shadows.

Really, with PC Gaming coming back large, Indie titles blowing away alot of AA development, the overwhelming popularity of Xbox Live, and PSN getting better and PS3 getting more exclusives no one has time for New Super Mario 14 Extreme Construction Paper Edition.

This is what Nintendo should have done with the Wii, not the Wii 2.

Nintendoland = Playstation Home

Paper Mario Sticker = Little Big Planet

CoD = CoD

ZombieU, oh hell forget it. It's Left 4 Dead except your not even watching the game, your looking at your socks.

MiiVerse....yeah, that'll fly over well as soon as some kids mom walks in and sees their 10 year old is getting called names, or she weighs in on her Wii Fit and random idiots from CoD are calling her names as well. Offline mode it is.

[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"][QUOTE="Cranler"] So you want to classify a console that cant play next gen games as a next gen console?Cranler
First of all, define next gen games to me. Let me in on whatever is going on in your mind, because I'm losing track. Please don't just say visuals. Secondly, hell of a crystal ball you got there. 360 started off slowly, with games looking barely better than previous generation titles. You don't have any idea what the Wii U is capable of, none of us do, and likely only Nintendo ever will. Your making assumptions based on demos from E3 on hardware that's only recently been finalized, and from dev teams just learning the hardware. The fact we already have ports that look better than the current gen is an excellent start (and that's what it is, a start)

Maybe you were too young for e3 2005. Everone was amazed at all the next gen games. Cod 2 was a launch game that ran at double the resolution of games on prevoius gen consoles. You needed a high end pc to play cod 2 at the same setting as 360. Thats a next gen console. Wii underpowered e3 showing is completely underwhelmeing and does nothing new

I have 8gb of RAM I'm selling, and one person offered a trade for a PSP.

I hope to get a Vita sometime in the next 6 months, but is the PSP still worth having. We had one a year ago, I didn't play it too much but my wife did.

Thoughts?

Playing FPS with a controller:lol:

soapandbubbles

FPS with controllers is so much better, expecially the 360's triggers that mimmick a rifles trigger, the resistance one get's with the analog sticks and the overall comfort of the 360 controllers which melts into ones hands, all done from a nice distance on a soft couch!

Really more so then the controls, it comes down to positioning and map knowledge. Anyone that has played in ladders or leagues knows this. It's like saying a mouse with 5000 dpi is better then one with only 800 dpi. It doesn't matter if 5000 dpi is too fast for the player, his accuracy will be all over the place and if he doesn't know the map he's teams favorite enemy.

Although I prefer kb/m on PC, I find consoles actually bring a more realistic approach because the response is slower. To be succesfull you have to be more patient, tactical, and move a bit slower. The idiots running around like crazy are destined for negative k/d ratios.

In 8 years in the Army as a Scout I never once ran around like a nutbag with rabies. I'd probably be dead by now if I had.

Well, I've been PC gaming for 20 years or more, but really when everyone your playing has a controller and so do you it's not like it's a handicap. There are actually alot of controller players that would wipe some kb/m players. I've played against both and seen plenty of great and horrible on both sides.

Thank you Eddie...I can now use your example to explain why I didn't post this in System Wars to begin with, I was looking for honest opinions and/or experiences with this controller. I have larger hands and used the Xbox controller on my PC so it's comfortable for me, the DS is too small for me for long term use, oh yeah, did you notice I said it's great for some games? I'm not being biased, just looking for something that suits me better.

I don't Troll, hence the reason I'm a low level...I have no need to post everyday here just to create havoc for my own entertainment.

Thank you everyone else for the honest input. I'm cautious about 3rd party controllers but I heard the MLG is pretty solid. And mostly what I'm looking for is the offset tumbsticks and ability to use the triggers and not the shoulders as my primary buttons, it seems that controller can offer that for me on the PS3.
