Its weird as hell seeing cows distance themselves from Hellblade though, lol. Pretending like they never hyped this game.

https://wccftech.com/microsoft-could-acquire-playground-games/

A Microsoft acquisition of Forza Horizon developer (and rumored developer of an open world RPG that is rumored to be the next Fable game) Playground Games might be imminent.

UK developer Playground Games could be about to be acquired by Microsoft(NASDAQ:MSFT 102.49 0%). A PDF document postedon the UK Government’s Companies House website reveals that on May 29th, Keith Ranger Dolliger was appointed as a new director within Playground Games.

Even the service address listed points to Microsoft, and that’s no coincidence. A quick Google search shows that Mr. Dollinger has been a Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Business and Corporate Development at Microsoft Corporation for quite a long time. Furthermore, and here’s the bulk of the rumor, he has been appointed as Director on a long list of companies such as LinkedIn, Rare, Skype, Lionhead, Groove Networks, Havok, Xamarin and more. What do all these companies have in common? That’s easy – at some point, they were acquired by Microsoft.

This move would make perfect sense, given the close relationship Playground Games has had with the software giant ever since the studio was founded. In fact, all of the games released so far have been Xbox and Windows 10 PC exclusives.

The announcement could be coming during the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing, where Playground Games is expected to officially unveil Forza Horizon 4, the fourth entry in their highly successful open world racing game. Early rumors suggested a Japanese setting, though the latest one actually points to the United Kingdom as a possible setting for the game.

That’s not the only game Playground Games is working on, anyway. A second studio was opened to work on an open world action RPG, with developers who’ve worked on titles like GTAV, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain hired for the occasion.

More recently, a strong rumor suggested that it could be a new entry in the Microsoft-owned Fable IP. Again, this makes a lot of sense given that Lionhead has now disbanded and a UK studio like Playground Games could be the perfect choice to carry the torch and develop new games in this highly British-styled fantasy universe.

We’ll know soon if this rumor indeed developers into an official confirmation, but chances seem solid at this point.

I reread the OP, and even googled the tweets/articles.

Do the words "Battle Royale" or even the suggestion appear anywhere at all? Or is that just OP's bad faith speculation?

Hopefully, they took it back to the drawing board to remove the Games as a Service F2P nonsense, and made it a full, normal game.

Hopefully, they DIDNT take it back to the drawing board, and shoehorn a "battle royale" mode into it, or similar such nonsense.

There is another dimension to this that people ITT arent getting.

Both games used Unreal Engine 4, and if im not mistaken, PUBG Corp. worked with Epic to add their own code to the engine to get the game to run. So EPIC had insider knowlege of the inner workings of their game, then turned around, shoved their ideas into their own game, implimented them first, got it to consoles first, then made it free?

There might be a credible case of corporate espionage here.

I hope this game lights a fire under SquareEnix's ass, to realize your game can use a traditional turn based battle system and STILL be "mainstream" in the west, and to stop being so scared to put one back in the Final Fantasy games. None of this shoving Kingdom Hearts battle system into everything that they've been doing since FF12.

All they need to do with the Final Fantasy 7 remake is just use FF10's battle system.

I don’t hear any cows say they want ps5. Most said 2020 at earliest. I myself don’t mind if it comes out at 2022.

There are alot of Cows in the Sony E3 press conference Shawn Laydon thread suggesting that PS4's enemic lineup (of games that have made cameos at the last 2 E3s) is ok because were at the end of the gen, and were on the eve of the PS5.

Link? I'd like to see that lol

If you didn't expect this you're a little slow...

Excited for E3? Well don't expect much if any NEW AAA games released for this generation!

PS4

For Sony fans, I wouldn't get too disappointed If Sony don't announce a ton of NEW AAA projects at E3 because PS5 is right around the corner and they will probably be saving most those announcements for PSX or E3 2019 closer to PS5 announcement to build hype (granted most if not all titles will be cross gen with PS4)

The bright side for PS4 here is that we already know about a bunch of fantastic looking AAA PS4 titles that Sony has already filled us in on.

  • God of War
  • Detroit Become Human
  • Ghosts of Tsushima
  • Spiderman
  • Death Stranding

This is probably going to be it for the AAA titles that release this gen (Now time fall 2019) PS5 most likely releasing fall 2019 or 1Q 2020 with small chance of fall 2020.

I called this over a month ago.

I don't really know why anyone would be surprised.

Sony has already announced 5 AAA juggernaut level exclusives that are all due to come out from now til the end of 2019 NOT including God of War that just released.

All they need to do is put out more info on those games.

People acting a little like dumbasss in here if they way to say something about Sony not doing enough for this E3 when they've already delivered a high profile AAA before E3 and MS will be lucky if they have 2 titles even close to GOW before the gen is over.
