@SkyAboveThePort I understand your viewpoint, I just don't agree with it.

I don't think that Online Passes are a bad thing. If you buy a used game and want to use that developers servers for multiplayer gaming, I think it's only fair that you pay a small fee to do so. Servers are expensive to run, and the developer gets no cut of what you paid for the used game. For single player campaign gaming, there should be no fees.

I'm 41, and have been around video games for over 30 years, and I have never seen such a gigantic backlash from gamers against a new console. A couple of days ago I watched Microsoft open the lid and step inside a gaming coffin, and yesterday I watched Sony nail the fucker shut and start filling in the grave. The Microsoft greed machine is going to learn a harsh lesson with the XB1. I can't predict the future, and three times in the last ten years I've had to cancel my Internet subscription because of financial difficulties, so there is absolutely zero chance of me ever investing in a console that could become unusable for it's main purpose if I once again find myself without an Internet connection for an extended period of time.

I buy used games, but I don't play online, so online passes don't affect me at all, but I don't see them as a bad thing as long as they are no more than a few pounds to purchase. Servers are expensive to run, so it only seems fair that those gamers who have bought a used game pay a few pounds if they wish to use the companys servers for online play.

@GirlgamerJen @Jrizzle86 Why should a game be any different from any other product you own, that can be sold on to someone else? Copyright law needs changed to bring it into line with the modern world.

@Artgekko Like yourself, I'm a 'single player campaign gamer,' and have been gamiing since the beginning of the 1980's. I don't have a Gold Xbox Live account, and I have no intention of getting one in the future. I want a games console, that I can play anytime and anywhere I choose. I have no interest in any of the Tv functionality that the XB1 has, and for good reason. Each of the HDMI channels on my Tv have different customised picture settings dedicated to their particular source. I don't watch Tv/Movies on the same channel that I play games on, and the XB1 looks like it wants me to watch everything through the same HDMI Tv input.
