What people need to realize is that this doesn't mean that she won't try to legislate the crap out of video games, what it does mean is that she wants to control everything to the same degree that other politicians want video games controlled.

Basically, they want to control all media we consume, whether it be music, video games, film, etc.

Because we're all inherently violent and sadistic and if it wasn't for the regulations and laws put forth by politicians, we'd all go crazy and kill ourselves.

This is what people like Nancy Pelosi believe.

"In order to make more money, we have to make it worse"

Remember when this artform had merit? If they really cared at all about the series they would stand fast and keep true to the original.

If game developers make something great, they will not have to compromise, because people will recognize how great it is and play it.

I feel bad for the EA devs who have to compromise their vision because some man in a suit says that if they don't, then they'll find someone who will.

Basically what he's saying is that the next Mass Effect game will takes place in the same universe. There's so much material to work with here.

I just hope they don't rewrite the history of the game. It could take place during the events in the other games, but be different people in a different part of the universe...really anything could happen when you have the entire universe as your setting.

Doesn't mean it's a reboot, people need to stop calling it that.

I don't understand why people are so against this. This is good for a number of reasons:

1) You will ALWAYS be buying pristine new games

2) Because retailers can only sell you new games, 100% of your gaming dollar will be going to the publisher/developer which means that they will be making more money which will result in:

a) Games with higher production value

b) Less expensive games, because the publisher/developer will be getting all of your money

c) Decreases the likelihood of an increase in games, since the increased revenue effectively subsidizes any potential cost hike.

Used games have been a HUGE market for retailers for decades now. companies like Funcoland, Electronics Boutique, Software Etc and now Gamestop have literally been promoting customers buy used copies over new, because Gamestop makes 100% of the profit and the publisher/developer gets none.

This can result in literally millions of dollars in lost revenue on a single AAA title.

I personally would much rather the developer or even the publisher get my money rather than Gamestop, who literally did nothing to make the game.

Anyone who says that this is bad, is short sighted and doesn't realize that they are actually hurting gaming in the long run by buying used. Of course there are always exceptions, but all someone has to do is look at the sales figures for Gamestop to realize that they are making HUGE profits off reselling used games.

@edjos I'd also like to point out that the "In Soviet Russia" meme was created by a Russian by the name of Yakov Smirnoff. He's a comedian.

@edjos Sigh...You don't know what prejudicial means, or maybe you're feigning ignorance...Nothing I have said is prejudicial anymore than saying that someone is a rapist after watching them literally rape someone. If someone does something and then you call them out on that, it's call comedic commentary

commentary: something that serves for illustration or explanation

He made a statement, in VERY POOR English, his name is Vladfromhell, so I made a joke about it.

the "In Soviet Russia" meme is commonly known, I didn't make it up, but perhaps you're new to the internet, after all I wouldn't want to be prejudicial.

@edjos Prejudicial: leading to premature judgment or unwarranted opinion

Not really at all. While my statement was pure jest, It was based on the fact that the OP displays poor grammar skills and his name is Vladfromhell.

Vladimir (<< LINK REMOVED >>: Владимир, << LINK REMOVED >>: Владимѣръ) is a male << LINK REMOVED >> of << LINK REMOVED >> and << LINK REMOVED >> origin, now widespread throughout all Slavic nations. It is also a common name in former Soviet non-Slavic countries where Christianity is practised, such as << LINK REMOVED >>.

Based on the information provided, I inferred that the OP has a loose grasp of the English language. My statement was not premature given that I made it after his post, because really, how can you make fun of something someone said if they haven't said it? and it was completely warranted.

U MAD BRO :/ ?

"Gamers have got to just quiet down," Yee said. "Gamers have no credibility in this argument. This is all about their lust for violence and the industry's lust for money. This is a billion-dollar industry. This is about their self-interest."

I'm going to put this into perspective for you:

Example A:

"Homosexuals have got to just quiet down," Yee said. "Homosexuals have no credibility in this argument. This is all about their lust for sex and the industry's lust for money. This is a billion-dollar industry. This is about their self-interest."

Example B:

"The NRA has got to just quiet down," Yee said. "Gun owners have no credibility in this argument. This is all about their lust for violence and the industry's lust for money. This is a billion-dollar industry. This is about their self-interest."

Example C:

"Doctors have got to just quiet down," Yee said. "Doctors have no credibility in this argument. This is all about their lust for abortions and the industry's lust for money. This is a billion-dollar industry. This is about their self-interest."

They all sound just as ridiculous. He's essentially saying that the people who are effected most and who have the most insight into the subject matterat hand have no say in the matter and should not be consulted. Only those with little to no actual knowledge of the subject matter are qualified to speak on the matter and everyone else should just STFU.

He is also saying that we have no voice, which is directly contradictory to the values the United States was founded upon. We all have a voice and a right to let our voice be heard, and it is called freedom of speech, Mr Yee.
