I predicted AA so definitely owned there. A bit surprised though since Eurogamer gave it a 9. They usually are the harsh ones :). I loved the demo though after realizing it wasn't really a GTA clone and more a Mercenary meets GTA clone so I'll be picking it up anyway. jumpoing aorund tall buildings with a buddy in coop was just to fun to pass over. /B

Well, I've been playing the game now for a week (only game I got for the PS3 except fro the demos and GT:HD) and I kind of agree with the TC about the dissapointing online mode. The good thing first is of course the lagfee gaming. Since I import I play against americans and I still haven't noticed any lag. That's great. However - I've not been convinced by the map-design yet. Of the 10 or so ranked games I've played I've been quite irritated that the maps have felt not suitable for the number of people. I've played mostly non-team based games and in most maps swawning very close to another player has more been the rule than the exception. I'm not fond of a deisgn which means you basically have 30 people running around on a map that in many other games would just allow 16 people. you can't move without running into at least 2 others and in the end the gameplay becomes chaotic. Even the few team-based ranked games I've played have been the same. I definitely prefer CoD3 MP right now. It doesn't suck, it just isn't as good as I think it could be. Sicne I'm a sucker for playing online though i definitely will keep at it. For every 5 games where youa re frustrated due to the chaotic gaming there is a game session where verything works great. /B

nanomecha4: Aren't you getting tired soon polluitng every thread with anti-360 comments? and regarding your "ownage" comment. Crackdown was officially hyped AA; nothing less, nothing more. That a few more now say AAA means nothing. The official thread ended in AA. Period. I still think AA. I liked the demo. it started a bit slow but once you get your stats up a bit it starts getting really fun. Climbing tall buildings. throwing cards and stuff, jump between buildings. I liked it :). Coop seems really cool. Read a few comments over at Eurogamer of people who had real fun playing coop and running around in the town independantly and then joined up from time to time. /B

So Krudus. If someone don't agree if you they should shut up? First of all, I own all three and I must say claiming that nonone will get tired of the controlling method, even if you called it "superior", is just plain dumb. In the end it is just another way of controlling games. It will not make games great by itself. Most of the great games on the DS are not great just because of the stylus, they would have been great with a regular controlloing method also. I personally think it works well in some typs of games and less well in others. I prefer a regular controller for some games and the wiimote for others. But I don't see it as the thing that magically will make every game great.

I see many comparisos between the Wii and the GC. When the GC came it was a lot cheaper than the Xbox and PS2. Everyone expected the GC to if not win at least easily beat the Xbox since people would get it as their second console regardless if they had a PS2 or a Xbox. And the GC sold well (almost as much as the Xbox). however - the problem with the GC as I see it is that it didn't get good third party support and in the end there were a big lack of games. Traveling around in Europe and the US I noticed that GC games where becoming scarce while the Xbox and the PS2 still had big areas in stores. i'm sure this was not so everywhere but in many countries like UK, Germany, Sweden etc. that is what I saw. So while the GC certainly has lots of great games it was loosing out against the quantity of PS2 and Xbox games. in the end. Not the AAA games but the AA and A games.

I see a risk that it will be the same with the Wii. So far I haven't been that impressed with the non-party type of games. And I certainly haven't been impressed with the third-party games (for instance the Ubisoft games). Yes, there is a opportunity to do innovating stuff with games but how many companies will do it and even more important, how many will manage to do it well? If a large part of the non-Nintendo games are poorly utilizing the Wiimote then in my view it might be hurting the Wii more than helping it.

I also don't know if the demographics that Nintendo has targeted is the one that will buy lots of games. We keep hearing halleluja stories about wifes, familymembers etc. who never play games getting into Wii Sports etc. Let's say a lot of "new"-gamer picks it up. How many games will they keep buying compared to the more hardcore-gamers of the PS3/360?

So, i see a risk the Wii will end up like the GC. Selling a lot of hardware but not managing to sell as much games which in turns makes less third-party developers keen on working on the Wii (regardless if it is cheaper to develop for) which makes even less games come out and so on. A vicious cycle.

In this case I'm "the glas is half empty" kind of guy :). But hey, I think it would be great if it kept suceeding since I first and foremost am a gamer and want the best games on all plattforms.

I guess then I'm also a troll since I own all three systems also. For me personally the lack of rumble is a huge negative. I really miss the feedback rumble gives. For instance - in Resistance:FoM I miss the feedback when shooting, the feedback when getting shot as well as feedback when a grenade or something else explodes nearby. It's part of the immersion. I can't imagine playoing CoD3 without rumble. As for Motorstorm. i loved the demo. But again, where's the feedback from the ground. When I play a dirt racing game I want to feel bumps in the road. I want to feel when i crash down into the ground. Heck, I got Battlestation:Midway for the 360 today and I can't imagine flying the planes without having rumble shaking the controller when shooting or getting hit. I take rumble over motionsensing every day. I guess getting both are the best but so far I've not really been sold on the whole motionsensing idea. I need a few more and better games to see it be utilized in a great way before getting sold on it. But rumble I will miss for ever. As for the whole guidebutton discussion. It's really a SW-topic I guess but I don't think you can compare the limited button on the PS1 controller with the guidebutton on the 360. They really are completely different beasts. Not that I think it matters who came up first with anything. /B

Got my import PS3 recently and been playing Resistance.Fall of Man plus Motostorm demo and GT:HD. Got both the 360 and the Wii at launch. Right now easily: 360 >>>>> PS3/Wii Probably will change over time though with new games. But I'm seeing myself getting 360 versions of crossplattform games because of XBL. /B

I finally got my import PS3 (whohooo!) and am hooked up the the US Playstation Store. So far I'm not impressed with it. It's quite sluggish for me but that's something I of course attribute to conencting from Sweden to the US servers so it will get better. But it still feels more of a website than a GUI made for the console. I guess it is meant to be usable with a mouse hooked up but I don't like to steer the cursor with the controller, regardless if I use the analog stick or the D-pad. It has a ok layout and I think that MS can learn from it. It still takes a bit to many button presses in Live to find what you want. Sony will continue improving but until they offer stuff like downloads in the back not to mention unified friendslist for all games and chat with/message people while playing different games I still think XBL will be on top. As for the arguments that you cannot compare a 4 year service with a 4 month service. First of all - the PS2 had an online service. So Sony has had way more than 4 months to work on it. Also - people buying the machines today will compare the services. No-one cares which one has been around longer. They just want to know what is best available today. I'm sure Sony will continue improving the service but so will MS. It's not like MS will stop and wait until Sony catches up. The whole unified XBL experience in my view still is miles above Sony's service which I still think lacks the complete experience I get from XBL.
