When you enter the e-Shop there is a "Menu" tab in the top-left corner of the bottom screen, click on that and you should see a "Search" option. This option lets you search by Platform, Genre, Publisher and Price. Inside each tab are filters to refine your search, and you can filter "Platform" to show "All Downloadable Software", "3DS Downloadables", "Virtual Console" or "DSiWare".
Upcoming games usually get their own tab on the front page called "Coming Soon" or something like that. If you see an unreleased game and find it interesting, you can add it to your Wish List and you'll be notified when the game becomes available when you enter e-Shop.
The Wish List is also a good way to keep track of games you want if you don't have enough cash for them at the moment, or just aren't 100% sure about them.

Seems like searching through the e-shop is near impossible and I barely know anything about it even after searching on it... Maybe it's a pretty new concept that just recently started up? I dunno, I'm a new 3DS owner...
It's a good game, but you got to be careful, because games like this can shoot up in value fairly quick. I live in the UK and it's going in some places for around what would be $75 to US folk.ModeDude
WHAAAAT?! I don't get it... why are DS games so rare and expensive? It seems like all DS and 3DS games are in short supply... and this game just came out so what's with that?!
I forgot to mention that there is a nyko plus power pak you can buy on amazon that apparently doubles your battery life... it seems like a great investment to me at only a $10 price tag. I bought it and it sure seems to last with the few times I've played it. It's been in standby and I've put a few hours on it and it's been in standby from Monday morning to Wednesday night and it had half a charge still on it which seemed great to me. Haven't tried 3DS games on it yet tho
I just bought a 3DS and even though I never owned a DS before and struggle to get an accurate comparison of DS games on a 3DS, I haven't noticed anything wrong with the DS games at all! I just bought my 3DS so maybe their implementing a new default screen resolution on the newer gen 3DS models? I think the graphics look absolutely fine... Anyone, please let me know if I'm wrong about this because they look what I would think is normal even if played on the regular DS. I just bought my 3DS about a week or two ago too... Anyways, I think all the DS games I've bought so far look completely fine and normal
Ohhh well that doesn't sound too bad... I dunno, so far I have never seen it used as a cheap gimmick since the only 3D games I've bought so far include Mario and Resident Evil, both of which make the 3D effect seem absolutely amazing so I'm in love with 3D right now...
