Price drop still doesn't make it cheaper in the long run

50 bucks a year for live, 50-100 for wifi...PS3 is more expensive in initial cost but after two years you end up saving money compared to the 360.

This is a list of the most expensive games ever made. I am suprised at which ones were so expensive. Anyone else suprised by some of these?

Considering how difficult of a job it was to follow the first one, I think thay did an incredible job of keeping it fresh and interesting.

That would be great! TM is one of my favorite franchises of all time.

[QUOTE="-ScorpionKing"]

the developer can make a game in 2 disc or 3 disc if the game cannot fit in 1 disc...so i think Blu Ray is not so necessary

dah_master

Don't you just find it annoying like you are playing a game then suddenly a sign appears "change to disc 2" and if you want to play the first part "change to disc 2"

or something. I know im lazy because i dont want to walk to my shelf of games to get a disc, stick it in , play for a an hour , and do the same thing again. I feel cheated if devs do that. I guess Ps3 having blu-ray is a good thing. IMO

Well from that post, I can assume you never owned a PSX, a PS2 or a 360. I have never heard of switching discs after only an hour.

I am not going to pass judgement yet, I think it could be great. Unfortunately there seems to be too much negativity around it though, at least in sites like this. I would like to see more and go from there.

[QUOTE="ihazfishsticks"]The Blu-Ray argument is really an impractical one since there was never a possibility for the 360 to have Blu-Ray. The production of Blu-Ray diodes / hardware was simply not where it needed to be when the 360 released. Blu-Ray would have also increased the price of production, something that obviously wouldn't have been good. If you look at the overall picture and compare the benefits vs. the costs of the 360 having Blu-Ray it's obvious that Microsoft made the right choice. They were able to keep production costs down, launch a year earlier, and they were able to sell a HDD-less unit (due to faster read speeds from DVDs). As we've seen the biggest draw back to Blu-Ray has been cost, and at the time of the PS3 launch the technology simply didn't allow for cost efficient 4x's drives. Forcing Sony to make HDD's mandatory. It increased the loading time and made mandatory installs a necessity in many cases. The cost also forced the PS3 to launch at a much higher price, which hurt sales for a long time. What has been the harm of using DVD9? Games shipping on multiple discs. I bet if you ask Microsoft if they regretted not using Blu-Ray, they'd laugh at you.

I have to agree with you 100% on that.

I prefer my 360. I like the controller better, multiplats usualy look better so that is what I get them for. Xbox live IMO is far superior to PSN, and the download times are simply a joke on the PS3. I do enjoy my PS3 alot though, just not as much.

I think that the lack of HDD for all 360's was a mistake. I am happy that the 360 does not have Blu-ray though. It is an expensive unnessecary item.
