For the record.  Stock prices are arbitrary as eff.  If there is a split, then that means there are potentially twice as many stocks in the company at half the value at time of split.  You can have a stock price of $5, but if you have 200,000,000 stocks in circulation then you are really doing something.

 

The pros look at market capita and holdings when valuating a business.  Every time I see a thread where some wanna be market analyst starts talking about Sony going under, it makes me cringe..  Not as a Sony fan, but as someone who lives and breathes in the business world.  You guys really need to stop.  You can fool some people who don't know any better, but from what I have seen, there's a small circle of you who just seem to beleive each other.

 

Reality is, the PS4 is funded.  The studios making the games are funded.  The parent company aims at turning a profit for the fiscal year.  and... you have 0 ammunition.

If you know business so well why didn't you just admit that my OP was true. Sony is not giving one to the fans with the PS4.

Xbox 1 launched that year and ended up selling 25 million consoles. Since Sony's stock is roughly one tenth of what it used to be, that must mean Microsoft will sell ten times as many consoles, right? You heard it here first. folks.  Where are you going with this? Yes I will admit that Sony made a mistake with the PS3 but they are trying to correct that with the PS4. Gamers are the lifeblood of the Playstation arm of Sony. Without them they are going to fail. That is why Sony are trying to market the PS4 as the gamers console. Would you rather stick with MS and have Netflix and SKY shoved down your throat?clyde46

    

The winner for last gen was clearly the Wii..They basically take almost all the market share..Sony and MS even out with each other.. Why do Lemming think MS dominate Sony? when there is no truth to it..Just look at the sales between the system..if MS sold 10 million more then the PS3 then you have something to talk about.. ...Sony made a lot of mistakes with the PS3 and they catch heat from it.I am glad that happen cuz it teach them a lesson.. They learn from it, why you think their trying to go back to the days that made the Playstation brand so popular and start over with the PS3 slim..i think its stupid for any fanboys to say that Sony and MS is not about the money..Its obvious that money is important to them.. I feel Sony did a awesome job satisfying gamers this gen with many great new ip games, free online and the Playstation+ subscription .You are getting FREE games from the services. They are willing invest money to please consumer, The happier they are, the more money Sony will get from them... What have MS done to please you guys? You won't because you can't.  That would require you researching the issue and thinking before you speak, which takes a heck of a lot mroe effort than throwing crap in every direction and hoping something sticks.

Sony screwed it up with the PS3. Thats why they are pushing the PS4 as the gamers console. The easy to develop for console and hopefully the best priced console. The high up's in Sony's head office have made a change the captain of the HMS Playstation and it shows. clyde46

only time will tell the PS4's quality / success. My point in the OP was that Sony's plan for the PS4 (pushing it as the gamers console) is not a gift to gamers, it's a business model from a corporation that has receently made bad decisions. 

When in doubt, deflect. You can't argue my points with the 720 mirroring the PS3 (albeit, from a previous generation where the product brand is in some likelihood coming from third place behind it's competitors). This is all you guys do. Anything to keep from having a conversation about the relevancy of Microsoft's business model. It was all fun and games to throw barbs at Sony fans when you made this thread, but you just got whooped.
