[QUOTE="THE_Rob_Himself"][QUOTE="clyde46"] Really? I edit with Adobe Premier on my 17in Macbook Pro and it seems fine. clyde46
I was using 2 22" monitors with my PC (gtx560) I found using alot of effects / many cuts made the preview quality too low to work with, for video I now use Premier/FCPX with my timeline on the MBP and Preview on external monitor, there's never a hiccup.
The higher res mostly benefits photos, I can see blemishes and missteps alot easier.
your big screen and efficient MBP will always work well with video editing
i had to OC my i5 2500k, the software/video files are also to blame, but I haven't had any problems with my MBP
[QUOTE="THE_Rob_Himself"][QUOTE="clyde46"] Apple aren't truthful when it comes to that Retina display. You can't use the full res without a hack.

The native resolution is high enough to edit accurately, since I don't use it for gaming, it works for me. I was using my PC with 2 displays before and it was not working out

It's a Mac, and a laptop...
...Why?

1) MS- game consoles are about a hell of a lot more than gaming these days, and MS is the only one that really gets that. People here will b*tch and moan about the lack of exclusives and handful of Kinect titles, but having that true "third screen" experience is going to be a hell of a lot more valuable than being able to say "PS4: the only place you can play mediocre Killzone and Infamous sequels!" So long as they do something about their XBL subscription set-up (read: free online play and access to stuff like Netflix) I think it'll be an easy win.
2) Sony- This is more a comment on how badly Nintendo shot themselves in the foot than belief that Sony has something worth buying. It's just too status quo: the games all looked boring (with the exception of multiplats), I don't think the social features go far enough to trump what MS is no doubt working on with XBL, and the genuinely cool Gaikai stuff is apparently work-in-progress/"aspirational". Maybe they have some big surprises saved up for E3, but as-is they don't have the games to sell the PS4 as the "gamer's" console or the features to sell it as the "everyone's" console.
3) Nintendo- They might have had a shot at second if the Wii U had sold like the Wii out of the gate, but its slow sales coupled with another set of "gen and a half) hardware is a recipe for disaster. If they can get the price down and big franchises out fast enough they might be able to salvage things, but as-is the Wii U is almost an impossible sell relative to the Xbox 3 and PS4.

I should've just quoted this, it's spot on.
1. Microsoft - we can see this gen that MS has set themselves up for mass market appeal and they will get it as long as THEY DONT BLOCK USED GAMES.
2. Sony - PS4 looks like they corrected some mistakes from the horrid ps3, controller looks MUCH better, Sony fanbase will buy no matter what.
3. Nintendo - WiiU is trash.
Look. Only time will tell what MS is up to. My feeling is that MS is not stupid, and the alst couple years of this gen they have been slacking, but all of this is in prep for the 720. Most of their partners and studios have not been making games probably because they are working on next gen titles. MS is also not dumping money on the 360 because they can put it toward a) research and development of the 720, and b) selling the console at a loss to make a better price point.
All of this is speculation but MS has been ahead of the curve in many respects in the past and I don't think they will pass up an open opportunity at first place.
EDIT: As far as jumping ship goes if the 720 blocks used games OR has to be always online I'll stick with my PC this generation.
