I've played with the controller and system and I can tell you it's perfect. It can do everything and feels super comfortable.
You'll adjust to new things, like using a touch screen. If not, then you should get a new hobby because gaming is always evolving. Play s(tyles) will change. Deal.
And Pro Controller support is in some games like Rayman, COD, Zombi U but it won't be in every game as not every Wii game supported C(lassic) Controller.
The Wii U Game Pad is what games will be designed around so just don't buy the system at all if you're this much against trying the new controller.

Well thank you for clearing that up then. I won't be getting one. Nothing the tablet does can't be done by buttons. Switch weapons? Open up an inventory screen. If going to a seperate screen is against the flow of the game, just have the player character open his bag in real time and scroll through the stuff with the controller.
The tablet is just a gimmick to get casuals interested.
So yeah. No Wii U, probably no xbox 720 if they come pre-packaged with Kinect, and no PS4 if thats got some stupid motion controls with it too.
I'll just go get a good gaming PC. At least gaming on that won't be ruined with stupid controllers aimed at four year olds and soccer moms.
