*sigh* you don't seem to understand the basics of compression/decompression, I suppose I'll have to educate I guess, hate this I'm no teacher but here goes.

*values used are false and for education purposes only*

Ok say gddr5 runs at 200gb sec and ddr3 runs at 90gb sec.

That 200gb sec is it, no special sauce.

Imagine XBO can compress memory at a 2:1 ratio for example. Now even though ddr3 can only run at 90gb sec it is effectively sending twice that data. Still with me?

So the 180gb of data compressed at a 2:1 ratio would would be be able to be sent down a 90gb sec pipe. Effectively achieving ddr3 running at 180gbs. Now here's the exciting bit, beings esram runs quicker than gddr5 would would it be able to do with the compressed data.

Also what if all 7gb of data is used for the game but they need more, well on XBO you simple compress the memory for more space.

Now this is simply an example and will be no where near that powerful, but it is worth discussion.

If you need more education feel free to ask my man.

You are missing the benefits of compression with esram. It's something that definitly warrants discussion.

The question really is why would you NOT mention this, not the other way round.

I think most people will buy online next gen, I know I will.

I am sick of going to midnight opening for games when it's pissing down with rain. Now I will sit in the comfort of my home and download the game at midnight. Ill let the suckers stand around all night while I'm playing games.

Hmm, just watched the video again..it's twice gamespot have done this now.

They have missed the infrared information regarding the XBO controller which I think is a huge feature. They also missed the esram and compression of the XBO in there PS4 XBO video.

Gamespot, honestly. If you feel the need to educate people with these videos please include all the information currently known, don't just randomly select features to discuss.

It's extremely biased and inaccurate journalism as you are sensationalising one hardware platform with, full spec details and selectively leaving out specs for the XBO.

It could be that you guys have yet to discover these feature for XBO ( I find that hard to Beleive as its splattered on official MS sites). If so, be professional and update the videos as at the moment the information you are putting out is incorrect.

XBO controller is the bolloxs, rumble triggers..YES I have been waiting for something like this for ages. If the touch pad of the ps4 controller really does take off though I can imagine MS comming out with a controller addon with a touchpad kinda like the crappy keyboard attachment for Xbox 360 (I could not give a shite about touch pads tbh, I hate playing games on the ipad).

However, Batteries??? MS really? It's 2013...its meant to be a high tech controller not a fisher price toy...bad choice.

Suppose ill have to pay extra for the charger pack :(

Can't argue with that. Still it happens though, not a big deal.

I would be very interested as well with the problem details, as from that we could tell if it was Sony's engineering incompetence or a genuine overlook.

Is the last of us not breaking ps3 pats as well?

Well tbh is not all that bad, Sony have said they have identified the problem so all should be fine. It happens, how many MS patches broke windows in some way over the years.

I wish gamespot would not make videos like this without more knowledge.

They have said nothing about lz77 for XBO or esram..

Bah, uneducated fools.
