Because a lot of the time the gpu is waiting for memory.I don't know why people are getting excited about bandwidth if it doesn't have a GPU with the power to do anything with it. So far they've been talking about everything except the GPU. Well, the GPU is what needed fixing!

It's GB/s, not MB/s.
Secondly, that 204 is limited to a small 32 mb.
Oh my bad, so it's an even bigger difference. It tastes like 204mb/s compared to 176mb/s.. Tastes pretty good.[QUOTE="Tadgerot"][QUOTE="PCGamingIsOver"]

But surely a move engine that can compress textures is a good thing?[QUOTE="Tadgerot"][QUOTE="PCGamingIsOver"]
Theoretically speaking, it's still A LOT weaker than the PS4. In real-world performance, Xbox ONE should perform a lot worse than its theoretical numbers because of the complexity added from DDR3 RAM, eSRAM and the continual need of the move engines to transfer data around.
The PS4's straight-forward architecture would be more conducive to hitting theoretical numbers in real-world scenarios than the xbox ONE's architecture.

Can someone explain how these changes will affect the Xbone's performance and if it will put it on equal footing with PS4, theoretically speaking?

Won't ever happen, they're hell-bent on trying to shoehorn Kinect as an industry standard, and they can't do that unless every console comes with it, else, the developers simply won't take it seriously.

I can understand their decision. Kinect was a huge hit, but how long will that last ? The Wii fad went over as well. Motion gaming was fun for a while (for me it was fun for a week) but even Nintendo and Sony are coming back from it.
I wonder how many casual fans of something like Star Wars Kinect will be getting a Xbone day one.
When you put it like that, it does look laughable.
