Go to Nvidia Control Panel - Change Flat Panel Scaling - Use Nvidia Scaling with Fixed-Aspect Ratio.
And now you're using your GPU to scale.
There is no such option.There is this stereo diaply mode with vertical interlace monitor and colour interleaved monitor as the options.Are you refering to this?

Well actually any LCD or Plasma TV should have some form of scaling inside. LCD Computer monitors having scaling chips inside, and the only place that you're really going to tell that it's been scaled is in small font text that computers use.
In game the difference is far less. Besides, GPU's can scale as well :?
That's just your opinion that normal PC monitors are good at scaling.I cannot stand the blury mess of scaling on a cheap LCD.

I am not saying that this applies to everyone and all that but this is a big flaw with PC gaming and surely not everybody may get affected by this.
The PS3 was developed with that in mind... the PC was developed to run on monitors... no one has won but your comparison has lost.
The ps3 was developed with gaming in mind.The PC was not as is clearly evident by the lack of essential features.So PC lose.

No you have to play in "windowed" mode if you are not going to play in the native res.Upscaling reduces the image quality significantly to the point that you may not game at all.Whereas upscaling with consoles is pretty good.
If you deny this then well you dont know what you are saying.

Or you could just let the TV handle the upscaling, as most 1080 TV's have very good scaling chips inside anyway, becuase they have to deal with lower res content anyway.
