the new Modern Warfare will offer co-op gameplay opportunities, but Infinity Ward isn't ready to talk about them. "What I will tell you is that the single-player storyline goes directly into the co-op storyline. No stop. The events just continue. So those elements--gameplay, progression, story--they just continue throughout everything that we have on the disc or digital download," Minkoff said.
I love this. He pretty much just told us exactly what the co-op is. :)
I'm really excited about the cross-progression (MP and SP) and for cross-play (please be hosted on servers!)!
I wonder if they had taken this concept even further, if it would have been better? Like, all the way to MMO style, like ESO?
Think about the issues with FO76 - and how it's *kind* of a co-op shared world game.. but very little in the sense of actual interactions with other players and NPCs.
I actually enjoy the game mechanics, running around (solo or co-op) and blasting enemies - but the concept of being the first vault to open.. and the holotapes you find... only fill in the "world" so far - so it feels very thin. just think if they had given it the whole MMO treatment?
@davillain-: agreed. Especially about the trailers. holy crap they gave a lot away.
I'd add that the movie had too many subplots, and some of them even seemed arbitrary and didn't add much to the overall story or characters. or maybe in a longer version they did, but for some reason, the whole movie seemed poorly hacked together.
It's only "rushed" because there are no *new* story lines to replace those that were ending. There have been several "sudden" endings throughout the series, like the defeat of Stannis or Rob Stark, that are not that different than stopping the White Walkers or the destruction of Kings Landing.
It's only a "switch" when you don't appreciate that the entire plot of Daenerys was that her followers didn't recognize that she was just as bad for the throne as those they opposed.
@BiggChonies882: was it tho? just because we aren't shown filler episodes of pining or hemming and hawing and instead see decisive moves and you know, conclusions?
@Sound_Demon: the North has the best chance of staying independent, though. The Iron Islands, for example, can only fish and you can't build a kingdom with nothing but fish. The 6 remaining kingdoms are to interconnected and reliant on trade to be independent.
@Richardthe3rd: well said. the cinematography and music have been top notch this season, yet people complain about "the switch" in Dany (where were they the previous 7 seasons?) and the "rushed" story telling. To that, I ask, what are you supposed to do to get to the end? In previous seasons, when something dramatically ends (like Rob Stark suddenly losing) we have so many other story lines to follow to compensate. but this is the end! you can't make up new threads at this point!
