@pelvist You don't get it, if its your opinion, then why does the opinion of SOMEONE ELSE matter to you? You just said it yourself, your opinion is what matters. so why care about whether someone else other than you likes a game or not? O_o

As for me, I could care less if you liked Dark Souls or not. I'm just asking you why it matters if someone else does.

@BarkingSpider81 I am one of those people who actually does not have the time to spend as many hours in this game as others do, but so far, I haven't had any problems. I haven't banded with anyone yet, I'm just following the character story for the time being and it's going smoothly.

Also, when things like world events occur, you don't need an invitation or anything, you just run in and join the action, then leave when its over. It's part of the reason I've chosen to get this game where I'd usually avoid most MMO's.

@Crimson_Erskine Actually, I was looking at WoW fees and it's not about whether I earn a lot every month or not. It's whether I see value in what I am paying or not.

Not to be funny or anything, but when I am paying almost as much as it costs to by a PC game every month just for a subscription, I do see it as ridiculously high because I do not see the value in what I am getting respective to what I am paying. Why must I pay that much when I can play another game that costs nothing when I play it yet still offers just as good of an experience?

It has nothing to do with whether I can afford it, it has to do with whether or not I see value in it, so please don't regard things with such a shallow viewpoint and presume someone is poor based on something like that, because its stupid.

This will actually be the first MMO I play properly. Well, when I say that, I've tried others before, but never got into them. Also, the fact that most of the biggest names in MMO's all seem to have ridiculously high subscription fees was quite a deterrent in itself so it's nice to see an MMO that manages to be an MMO while also breaking the stigma of what MMO's actually are and what they're about.

It's an MMO that, depending on how you want to play it, can be a great single player experience as well thanks to the story for each character to follow, only, just one where lots of other people are wondering about and just happen to be killing stuff in the same area you are. <_<

I reckon I'll be sinking many hours into Guild Wars 2... but my only problem starting out is that I still can't decide what class/profession to play as, because they all sound so cool. Lol. X___X

@vfibsux Different reviewers = different opinions which = differing scores. There cannot be consistency where there's individuality. It's not a concept that simply does not work.

What they could do for reviews, however, is have a "second opinion" score where one of the other writers gives their score on the game, just for people to take a gander at to help balance things out a bit by being able to view multiple opinions. But them if you wanted to do that you could just look at scores from multiple sites so...

@bolshacklancer My computer supports this just fine, but it's my terrible internet I have to worry about. Lol. Although, so far, it seems to be running smoothly...

@pelvist Infinitely more fun than Dark Souls... in YOUR opinion.

In any case, why does 0.5 points matter? So long as you enjoy the game, that's all that should matter.

The difficulty in Dark Souls is perfect as it is. It is, in fact, the difficulty that makes the game attractive to all its fans and what sets it apart from other games. If you take that away, then all you are left with is another run-of-the-mill game that is just like every other action RPG out there and thus, its uniqueness will be lost. People need to keep in mind that Dark Souls was meant to be hard, and that the difficulty itself is an ingrained part of its entire gameplay design.

The fact is that different games are made with different audiences in mind. Some are for those who love puzzle, some for those who love simplicity and some for those who love tactics. Some were made to be easy and some were made to be hard and in both cases, its to suit an audience that loves that type of gaming experience. In the end, when it comes to gaming, there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach because there is no possible way it would work unless you want ALL of your games to become generic and bland. As it is, we are all already spoiled for choice when it comes to the games we can buy, so if one doesn't suit us, whether its because of style, genre or difficulty, then all we need to do is find another one that does. Why must we now level a playing field that should never be leveled and where uniqueness and variety of choice should be celebrated and not scorned?

A three day account suspension isn't really that severe. It's a slap on the wrist for an inappropriate action so I don't see it as being excessive or severe. Also, it seems like they're being fair by giving those who felt their suspension was unfair a chance to question it and be given more details.

I usually avoid MMO's because of how nasty they can get as far as interacting with other players is concerned, so it's nice to see an MMO where inappropriate behavior is being toned down.

It's funny how much of a bad vibe there is around Blizzard now.

Sure, maybe not everyone's fond of the new Diablo, but what about Starcraft 2? In my opinion, Starcraft 2 was a prime example of a great game, both as an RTS and as a game in general. It has a load of content, great gameplay, great production values and great, competitive online multiplayer.

So because some people are not happy with Diablo 3, suddenly the world has ended and we forget all of Blizzards successes in favor of obsessing over one potential failure (even though apparently many people still love to play it). It doesn't make sense. <_<
