It's been right around the corner for years now. I've lost my enthusiasm for it. I'll still pick it up whenever SE decides to release it but I'm not in a "can't wait for it" mindset anymore.
So I picked this up yesterday after work. I was really torn as to whether to buy the PC or one of the console versions. I read several reviews saying the PC was the superior platform but there seemed to be more micro managing with it than I may have wanted at the time. I'm just looking for an experience where I can relax on the sofa and enjoy a game. Long story short, I ended up getting the 360 version. So far I'm not disappointed. I know the controls are dumbed down for the consoles but I think it fits perfectly into the more laid back experience that I was looking for. I may pick up the PC version later on. In fact I most likely will to get the whole gameplay experience. Overall, I must say this is a must buy for whatever platform you own. It really makes me remember why I love Bioware so much.
What happens is you just load each town's data onto every disc. What takes up the most space would be cutscenes and the story parts for each disc. No different than going back to towns you visited in disk 1 of the old PSX games.
I don't know what people are so pissed off about. Just means more people get to play the title. I think I'll still get the PS3 version though since that's what they've been developing for all this time. It stands to reason that would be the most polished version. I just hope the 360 version isn't some crappy port and actually turns out solid on both consoles. It's a win-win situation for gamers in general.

imo - it lives up to the hype, and exeeded it in a few areas, though in all honestly i dont see it as the latest god game that cures cancer and purges the world of non beleivers. Probably not. I'll wait to pass judgment for when I get my hands on it. Normally the GTA series isn't on my list of must haves but with the MP options and my entire CoD4 crew getting it I will at least give it a try. I've already heard good things and some bad. A friend said he was driving down the road when the model went all "blocky". Said next thing he knew he was driving through this brown block instead of on the road. Obviously that can be fixed with a patch but I do wonder if the game deserved the grand 10/10 scores it's been getting. I guess I'll see tonight.

If gamespot was still doing the .1 scores then I'd say MGS4 would edge out NG2 by .1 or .2 points. But I think both will get a 9.5 under the current score system.

Nothing lazy about it. I don't care what style it is. As long as it is a solid RPG then I'm down.
