Tbh BioWare hasn’t been the same for a decade now, they’ve been working under the worst games they’ve ever produced..... I’m not sad to see anyone leave the studio any more.
We know the Xbox is more powerful, but you don’t buy consoles for power.... I mean the 3080 is 20 shader tflops and the Xbox One X is 12, on top of that the 3080 is way more capable of RT than RDNA2 that sucks at it. I mean the 6800XT is capable of 30FPS 4K RT, but the 3080 is doing 60FPS and way more with with DLSS.
So buy the console that gives the games and ecosystem you prefer. Leave the power to the PC as we’re only in gen one of the PC hardware, it’ll get worse for the consoles every year. Let’s also not forget Apple came along with M1, which could spell the start of an ARM revolution.... the consoles will have a 7/8 year life, which they could be left behind majorly CPU wise as well.
Also before people say about drive speeds, yeah the PC already has 6400MBps drives, already faster than both. They already have technology to bypass the CPU in the new GPUs.
Tbh I felt that the PS4 and Xbox One controllers were a step in the wrong direction. They were just going back to the 360/PS3 design without improving how we play. Really weird after seeing how controller design can bring everyone to your console, lessons learnt with the Wii. Also just how good keyboard and mouse is for a lot of genres controllers suck at. There still isn’t a solution to this as keyboard and mouse and button mapping aren’t supported console wide.
My main problem is developers by compressing their assets. They could reduce their games by three quarters, but they don’t for uncompressed media no one notices.
