[QUOTE="bungie93"]Reading some of the posts on this thread scares me. How has Obama rallied so much support? I've never seen so many die-hard supporters for any candidate.bungie93

Because he's a great orator and gives false hopes. Most don't even know his policies. His way of trying to rid the world of nukes is one of the dumbest things I've heard.

Trying to rid the world of nukes is dumb? I completely disagree. And in any case you are misinformed since that is not one of his policies.

No, but good luck trying to get Iran or North Korea to give up their nukes.

Even George Bush has somehow managed to get North Korea to agree to dismantle its nuclear facilities.

Raise funding for finding an alternate energy source. Do you deny that an oil-free United States, which is not dependant on something so crucial to our Economy, would be a good thing?

bungie93

That won't lower gas prices UNTIL we find a suitable source of alternative energy. That could be years for all we know. Americans want an immediate solution. And besides, John McCain supports funding for alternative energy. Last I checked, we can drill for oil in the United States and find new energy sources at the same time.

Even drilling for oil is not an immediate solution. It will take time to find the oil, drill for the oil, process the oil and then transport the oil. Years.

And anyway, don't you know that the immediate solution is usually the worst one? Plus Obama supports expanding nuclear power.

Right. Because he says so in his speaches. Change you can believe in. Wow, how pathetic. You see, I respect the people who actually know Obama's policies, but I can't stand the people who just listen to his speeches and the Obama crazy media and actually believe this crap is true. P A T H E T I C.

trix5817

McCain uses the same kind of rhetoric in his speeches:

'America First' it proudly proclaims on his website. What exactly does that mean? About the same as 'Change You Can Believe In'. All politicians say words to try to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. But Obama just happens to have the better one at the moment. I'd bet John McCain would give anything to switch mottos with Obama.

And you are obviously a die-hard opponent. Same difference. Would you be arguing as vociferously if Hillary had won the primary? Would you have changed your avatar to a photoshopped picture of Hillary?

Seems likely.

I'm not a die-hard oppenent. I actually used to be liberal until 2004. I just hate how liberals are becoming socialists and control freaks.

Oh, so John Kerry made you angry? He was so bland and inoffensive it seems impossible for him to cause any anger. Or did the swiftboating tickle your fancy?

And you do realize that the guy who funded the swiftboating ads (Pickens) now basically backs Obama's policies.

Trix: Obama won't make things magically better, but he will make some fundamental changes to our policies in: economics, torture, spying, iraq and energy.

Even the people who are only voting for him because he represents change have the right idea. We have to elect the candidate who is the least akin to Bush.

Let me guess. You've got sucked in to Obama's "Change" crap. It really sickens me to see people falling for his garbage. Being a good orater means nothing. Hitler was a good orater too........(not comparing Obama to Hitler but just saying).

Oh, don't worry, I know that's just rhetoric. But McCain does want us chained to the past, dependent on Saudi oil. Torture. Domestic spying, all that stuff.

Where do people get this stuff? Mccain wants to drill in America so that we are NOT dependent on Saudi oil. Obama says we cannot drill in America and must rely on Saudi oil.

If we drilled all the oil in America we would still be dependent on imports. It would barely make a dent in our supplies. Not to mention it would take 10 years before the 1st drop from those new wells actually made it into our gas tanks. Seems like 10 years we should be using to develop alternative energy sources.

Trust, me, if you dont know who I am, its because you refuse, to listen to what I am asking you to do.I'm a person highly hated by everyone in the PS3 forum ever since my 17 page argument, and I urfe you to read it before judging me.SonyMarksman70

You still haven't linked it for me so I can read it. Judging by your profile you were probably banned for some reason and had to start over.

[QUOTE="SonyMarksman70"]Barack Obama probably has 9/10, of the population brain washed, and I will not argue it with legit responses anymore, you miscarriaged craniums will just have to realise it for yourselvesAMitch24

If you don't mind I would like to know what is your age and what do you do for a living? I'll start...I'm 18, im white, starting college at a state school, I work at my fathers car dealership. My father is an Independent, My mother is a democrat, my grandparents are both republicans and my older brother is an independent...My parents gave me the option to choose what party i would follow, i was not pushed or forced to join any. I am a registered democrat but will not limit my voting to party loyalty. All of my family is voting for Barack Obama. Yes, my 75 year old, die hard republican grandparents are voting for Barack Obama. My parents are and my older brother who has never voted in his life will be voting for Barack Obama. My brother hates politics but he seems to follow them very well. All my friends and their families are voting for him and so are their parents and relatives...

Your family sounds great!
