You really need to lift big. As somebody looking to gain weight, you need to do heavy bench press, heavy squat, deadlift, overhead press, cleans/rows, etc. Dumbbells are usually for more supporting exercises unless they are really heavy and you can do different kinds of presses with them. You may be able to gain a tiny bit of muscle with only dumbbells since you are a beginner, but you really need to go to a gym, or get your own home gym. I have a Gold's Gym Olympic weight set and bench at home if I'm feeling lazy and don't get to the gym. I wish there was an easier way, but you have to lift heavy if you are going to grow.[QUOTE="BMD004"][QUOTE="TheCh0sen0ne85"]Some more questions, can I just use dumbbells and do a bunch of things with them? I don't have any space for any workout equipment except for dumbbells and some other stuff that are small. Also I don't wanna go to a gym. VisigothSaxon
Not if he is young/wants to grow still. Lifting heavy and doing sqauts will stunt growth like no other. Even going down too far on bench press could give you a small arm if your tendons aren't developed fully. I discuss all the growth stunting stuff in my guide and on the exercises list because it is far to east to stunt it.
I'm in my mid 20s
