If you're looking for simple 'plug & play', an SSD isn't for you. The technology is there, but unfortunatly the execution isn't quite. They can take some tweaking in order to run well; especially if you're planning on running RAID etc.

Check your BIOS, and make sure you're running Dual Channel etc. Load up your Optimal Defaults if you're not sure. Also, check your timings to make sure you're running at optimal performance.

In that case, it'd be up to you whether or not to spend the extra money now, or later. If you decide to upgrade your GPU later, you can always upgrade the PS at that time, and save the money now.

Unless your setup includes SLI and RAID 0, it really won't do much good; unless you plan to "upgrade" it at a later time.

Need a bit of info on your specific setup; namely your audio stuff. Card, onboard? What kind? Etc.

Also, the stuttering that you're probably hearing, may not be stuttering: It may be clipping. MS is already aware of this issue with Windows 7, and "is working to resolve the issue..."

You may try turning down your onboard EQ down a couple of decibels, and turn up your volume a bit.

Looks pretty good. It should serve you just fine.

Only thing I'd suggest is Windows 7 with that build (ATI 5770) to gain DirectX 11 benefits with that GPU.

MaoTheChimp

Both Vista and Win.7 have DX11 capabilities.

Yeah, but if you're gonna do Vista...

Now before you all start making fun of me: Yes, this IS in fact a question about a problem I'm having for this game. I bought it for my daughter for her 8th birthday after she saw it in a local GameStop, and she just HAD to have it.

The problem is this. She's trying to do some riding challenge that has her ride around the outside of the Riding Camp; however, when she enters the mid-to-lower western side of the map, her horse hits an invisible wall and won't allow her to go any farther. She can't complete the challange because of it.

The wall seems to be in place down the center of the map completely down the western side, so she literally can't ride anywhere on that side of the map past (about) the center part.

I'm at a loss as to how to get around or to fix it. This being an older game (2003), I'm unable to find anything about any kind of potential problems etc. with the game.

She's very distraught because her her 'new' game isn't working, and she'd really like to play it, but she can't get past this challange because of the "wall".

Anyone happen to know anything about this, or how I can fix it? It's being played on an 80GB PS3 (old sty1e with full backward compatibility).

I remember my PC Hardware c l a s s that one of the steps to building a new PC and using the original OS on the old HDD was "Pray VERY hard!".

Yes, it was an ACTUAL step. :P

(Indeed, the word 'c lass' is, in fact, forbidden... Fail)
