@justin1946394: to expinsive price-per gig. Cant fit to many games on them. Waiting a 10 more seconds for a game to load doesnt really bother me lol. Raptor Drives do well for gaming... I won it at work, may as well use it. One day down the road maybe I will put the OS on an SSD. If I were gonna spend the $300+ on an SSD, I would have opted for the 980 TI lol
@MichielNu: Yeah... although 2 970's seem to surpass performance of a single 980 by a good margin. And x2 970s is only $100 more than a single 980ti... figured why not. Especially Overclocked 970's... These new Gigabyte ones are by far the highest 970 performers. Even at Gigabytes stock overclock... they run games average of 15 to 20fps higher than a single 980. For a budget price lol...
My question is, will a game be able to utilize 4gb from each card (technically it has 3.5gb availible from one card) as both cards will be running in an 16x PCI Express slot...???
Gonna plug it into my Samsung JS9000 SUHD 55" 4k. Supports 60hz @4k and 120hz @ 1440p... with gaming mode enabled it has super low latency. Something alot of TVs dont offer... Glad Samsung had gamers in mind on this TV...
Rig should be able to destroy anything I throw at it in 1440p on ultra/high... and 4K should be playable depending on the game...
Keep in mind, this rig is exclusively for gaming... not gonna have a bunch of crap on there... games games and more games... nothing else.
Anyone on here have any suggestions or thoughts? I've been out of the PC scene for for quite a few years now... I know I wont need more RAM.... yet anyways, as no game utilizes over 6gb system memory from what I've seen... wont be recording, or editing or anything... anyones thoughts are very helpful...
CPU will be OC'd to about 4.5ghz as far as GPU's they are pretty OC'd out of the box from Gigabyte. They are running core clocks about 1300's area. Still alot of headroom, but i want longevity as well.
I'm not here to brag... I just want some input. I know there are several rigs that would destroy this build... but I'm on a budget... and no, most importantly... I dodnt skimp out on my PSU... lol

Some sort of promotion from Gigabyte when I ordered my 2 GTX 970 Extreme OC gaming edition with Windforce cooling from Newegg...
On top of Nvidia promotion for Tomb Raider buying a 970 or higher... think I got a good bargain. Considering x2 SLi 970's (version i bought are the fastest one's made) pretty much destroy any game in 1440p on ultra. And can play on 4k on mid/high settings... they were only $339 a peice.
@hystavito: Its all about "Sound" and a good pair of headphones... you can hear everything... such as someone rappeling outside, footsteps, a person adjusting, reloading, down to a grenade pin being pulled.
