@KingofCabal EA, contrary to popular opinion, *has* done some great games. They been idiots before, but when on top of their game, they put out some quality games pretty consistently.
@Shiroukai @TheGamerPhenom It's why I'm *cautiously* optimistic moving forward concerning this game. Done properly, it could be great. If DICE focuses more on making it a Battlefront game, and not Battlefield, it has all the potential in the world to be great. But, if they just make a carbon copy of what we get in Battlefield, I'll be saying no thanks.
I'm also very excited for a potential Star Wars game from Visceral. Between the new Battlefront, and whatever the game from Visceral is going to be, the future is at least looking better for Star Wars games. And it's been far too long since there have been solid, consistently good Star Wars games to play.
@XxTheEvilxX Yep. It's EA. I can't be anything BUT cautious going forward. But I am indeed hopeful they can pull it off well. When EA actually focuses on putting out a good product, they can produce some gems (original Dead Space, the early Battlefield games, etc.etc.)
@atlanticmoon @xxxxTRISTAMxxxx @XxTheEvilxX Nah. Play Battlefield for that. Let Battlefront become it's own game. Elements from it are fine. But making the entire game similar to Battlefield is a sure way to ostracize many of the long time fans who are excited about this.
@xxxxTRISTAMxxxx @XxTheEvilxX I'm all for elements of the Battlefield games being included in a new Battlefront, because I do think they would work well. But I don't want it to be Battlefield: Star Wars Edition. Battlefield is running it's river dry just as COD has done.
@KingSardine @TheGamerPhenom @gatsbythepig I remember that. It's unfortunate, but it means they are actually taking time to assess where they want to go with the franchise.
@SergioMX Eh, but the game DOES need to have some of the elements from the first two that made them so damn fun to play. A completely new approach to the game isn't a terrible plan, but EA and DICE assume much more risk if they stray too far away from what made the first games so entertaining. Not saying we need a carbon copy, but I also don't want a Battlefront that feels exactly like Battlefield with a Star Wars skin put on it.
@XxTheEvilxX I'm skeptical at best, but you have to admit, the guys who made Battlefield do SEEM to be a good fit for a new Battlefront. But as you said, only time will tell for certain.
@gatsbythepig As others mentioned, considering they are seemingly making it their own brand, and redoing the entire thing, at least in theory, I see almost no chance of it being out this year. But I would hope it would be out before the end of the next year.
