I have to agree. I don't know what Bungie did with the quality. And the sales are terrible, as well. It only managed to sell 2.2 million in its first week.
Maybe its the most hyped game this year(even though I'd say killzone 2 and halo odst + wars are about the same), but this whole gen? No not even close.

Halo Wars wasn't even remotly close to being on the same hype as Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2. I'll give you ODST though. Yeah, anyone saying that Halo Wars had hype remotely close to the name that was Killzone 2 clearly is insane. :lol:

No, I did. I just don't remember that it was hyped so much, so much in fact for people, well you, to say its one of the most hyped games this gen. That's all. Obviously it would have been hyped more than your average game, I mean its SSBB! But as much as GTA4 or MGS4? Don't remember that. But ah well, can't do anything about it now.
Well, it really was. It opened with 500k+ sales in 1 day in Japan and 1.4+ million in the U.S. (1 week), showing that it clearly was hyped if so many copies were purchased this quickly. It easily transcends the hype that Twilight Princess had, I think. I can't imagine a Nintendo Wii game with a greater hype than SSBB. As for SSBB vs. GTA IV, GTA's hype was unbeatable, so that's a no, naturally. :P I mean, many months before its release, many people wanted to to buy it. I was one of the people that doubted. But when every critic, shorthly before its release, praised it to heaven, everyone, including me, would naturally buy it! I mean, the true sequel to the 22 million+ selling game + absolutely killer reviews = great hype, right? As for MGS, I think they (maybe) were equally hyped on forums (SSBB being hyped on more insane levels) with SSBB being a bit more hyped in real life (thus the better sales). :)
Every time a big new game is around the corner it feels like it's most hyped game ever. Uncharted 2 is definitely up there with Halo 3, Brawl, MGS4, Killzone 2, Bioshock (yes, this game was massively hyped) and who could forgetTwilight Princess :P

And you obviously weren't around for Bioshock. Remember, it was exclusive back in 2007. Some were hyping it to be the best game ever. It's reviews were similar to Uncharted 2's at the moment.
I remember BioShock being overshadowed by Halo 3. Sweet times.
