Well, imo, I like to think Capcom still matters as a whole. Looking at their wide range of game releases they try to make things for everyone, and it seems that if they know it won't make big bucks they'll still opt to put it on a handheld.
Sega is the same way, but Sega seems a bit more focused on the publishing side nowadays which is actually cool since they partner with some good western devs.
You'll find the obscure Japanese games on handhelds nowadays, so I suggest looking there if you're so interested.

Capcom has only made ONE AAA title this whole generation. Everything else was meh (Resident Evil was garbage IMO, was a chore just to play, DMC4 was meh) and Sega has been absolute crap this entire gen, save for a few AA games (and by "a few" I mean ONE, aka. valkyria chronicles). Thats seriously bad that they have only made ONE game that was more than "A" quality this gen.Square Enix has went to hell as well. Every game they made this gen was a flop, most of them only being "A" games, with the exception of FF13, and we know how that turned out.
Konami has been irrelevant this gen as well outside of Metal Gear. When are we gonna get back to the days when Japaneese devs are pushing out AAA after AAA, and not just hanging onto the ONE franchise they had for the last 20 years for dear life.
And, lol I feel stupid for leaving out Team Ico and Polyphony though. Other than those 2 and the ones I mentioned in the OP, I cant think of anyone else relevant this gen.
