Man, the first movie was excellent. It oozed style.
I really hope this one turns out well, but post-2020, post-George Floyd, everything is so politically injected with social justice stuff that I don't think I could stomach a second of it in another film at this point.
I’m glad the game maintained a 9. I think the “judging games based on today’s standards” is a loaded idea and perhaps an unfair one. There’s a lot to unpack behind that idea. But how often do you hear people say “Hey. Citizen’s Kane still holds up!” or “That Hamlet is still good in 2023!” Classics are established as such way before a retrospective. And mea culpas can make classics of games that should have been considered classic to start with.
People who want to preserve the historicity of video games need to have a threshold of what an established classic cannot score. Super Mario Bros. should probably never score anything lower than a 10 or a 9 at the very least, for example. Person 4 should likewise always hover around 9 territory. If gamers want their medium taken seriously as “art,” then a review and score should be more than “getting your money’s worth.”
I hate that Madden made my Panthers lose the Super Bowl against Denver! After all the hard work that team put into the 2015 season! I think the Carolina Panthers should sue Madden and the NFL for allowing this simulation to take place and directly affect the psyche of the universe!
Down with Madden! Damn Madden! Down with Madden! Damn Madden!
