@Birth_By_Sorrow Interesting point, but he said it was the "best Mario Bros. game in years," not "best Super Mario." That means he believes it is better than New Super Mario Bros. 2, New SMB Wii, and most likely he believes it bests the original NSMB,too. He isn't counting the Galaxy games or 3D Land.
@istuffedsunny I think you have to be careful with sweeping generalizations and realize that your circle of friends or gaming buddies/acquaintances are not microcosms of the gaming community at large. Many of us still enjoy the Super Mario platformers, and there are millions of new, younger players as well.
Good game-just as charming as you'd want a Paper Mario, but if this game could be remembered by one word, I think it would be "pointless." Some of the game's central elements feel meaningless or forced, and it's disappointing that other elements that made the previous Mario RPGs so great have been completely stripped away. Still, I'm enjoying it.
Many were wanting to ignore this one after so many Super Mario entries as of late, but I think it's time to stop overlooking this one. When I get a Wii-U, this will be one of the first games I purchase. Mario's still got it!
@Asim90 Rayman Origins is considered to be one of this generation's commercial disappointments considering its critical acclaim. It hasn't even reached two million in sales globally though released on...five systems already? More than 1.5 mil is still a good number, though. Origins was amazing, and I hope Legends is successful regardless of what platforms it's on.
