She has got in my way a few times (blocking my path), and she has a tendency to run right in front of enemies, but it's okay since they don't seem to recognize her when she is right in their face anyways. Maybe you're maneuvering through the game slightly different than I am, therefore minimizing your chances of running into these issues. But I am not the only one to point this out.
They could have at least had Ellie go to a specific spot to hide; she can fit into tight areas. That would go against who she is as a character, but the immersion breakage does taint this game, especially considering all enemies only attack based on sound and sight.
Sure, some rough textures here and there, and I've noticed at least one graphical glitch, but which console game looks better in your opinion? Maybe I haven't played it yet.
Okay, so I am about three hours in, and I still have no issue with Tom's score (though I believe I'll end up rating it higher, but not sure yet) or reasons for it. However, I have one question. How in the world did this game not earn the "technically proficient graphics" badge? This is the best looking console game I have ever laid eyes on.
I was a little disappointed that Retro was not doing anything completely different, but after seeing this, my anticipation for this game has skyrocketed. Looks great!
Wii U's current failure has little to do with Nintendo's classic franchises. Actually, the lack of those franchises is one of the reasons it is doing so badly. Also, why would little kids be the ones who are intrigued by the "blast from the past" titles. Is a twenty-three year old a little kid? Cause I grew up on and still enjoy Nintendo games, but I didn't think that little kids would get a nostalgia trip from thirty year old series. But I would like to see some new IPs in addition to the steady releases of their classic material.
That would certainly be a feat. Ocarina, a fifteen year old game, still stands as a fantastic adventure, even against modern adventure games. So for a new Zelda to reach OOT standards, it will have to be a revolutionary title that people will be buzzing about twenty years from now.
