What I hate about gas stations is the fact that they're all operated by old women who have no idea how to add change or use a register, making even the simplest transactions last for a good thirty minutes.

No:xHe lied about it because he knew the media would turn it into an overblown rabid frenzy. He did nothing illegal, he did nothing to compromise his job; why should we fire people for "doing something gross"?[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="BATTOSAI76"]
I say resign. It's the only decent thing to do in such a dirty predicament. I mean he must think we're idiots. He would do something so gross, then get caught, then lie about it, then tell the the truth, and finally thinks he has the right to stay in office. Really, he thinks we're idiots to still want him in office after all that crap. Disgrazia... That's all I can say about him.

He lied to his wife, and he lied the people. He can't be trusted with that job if he's going to lie strait to our faces every chance he sees fit. He compromised his own position if you ask me.
Who cares if he lied to his wife? What he does or doesn't do with his wife has no bearing on his job; it is not illegal to lie to your wife, and if everyone who lied to their wives had to quit their jobs then the unemployment rate would be a helluva lot higher than nine percent. It's nobody's damn business what he does with his wife, as long as he isn't beating her or forcing her into sex or doing anything illegal with her. As for the public, again: He lied because he knew it would be overblown by the media. It was a matter of no concern to the public in the first place. If you were cheating on your wife and pulled out to confess to the world that you were doing it, would you tell the truth knowing that you would lose your job (despite being perfectly good at it)? And again: EVERY POLITICIAN LIES, and there are plenty that lie about things that actually compromise the American people: why don't we demand the resignations of those politicians that lie about Obama's birth country, or the ones who lie about the impending consequences of gay marriage, or the ones that lie about healthcare reform, or the ones who lie about how "devastated" Medicare is right now? Why are you focusing on the guy who OMG had an online sext with some girl while married--he's done a decent job as a politician, but the second his personal life is probed by the media (who has absolutely no business doing so) then it's all up in arms. It's freaking ridiculous. If he hadn't lied about it he would have no reason to resign, but he lied...8-BitternessPoliticians lie all the time about matters of actual significance, but when one lies about a private matter nobody should have been asking about in the first place, he's the one that needs to resign?
