Such an obvious lie..

Can't you ban people like this? FFs, state facts or atleast manipulate facts to your advantage! Don't fabricate lies!

A 8600GTS couldn't possibly play crysis on more then 20 fps (more like 15) on high..

omgimba

I don't think you could say that for sure unless you have tested it with many different setups. He has overclocked his 8600 and didn't say by how much. His CPU is also decent and it's possible Crysis more CPU intensive then we realise.

Looking at the type of games get those kind of scores I would hope Mass Effect scores in the 8-9 range. For an example of what I'm talking about I give you Oblivion and Morrowind. The only way a game would get near perfect is if it were easy to get into and action packed enough to keep joe gamer happy. If a game sacrifices depth to achieve these goals I wouldn't consider it to be a good trade off and all the rave reviews in the world would not help me enjoy it.

PS3 is the obvious choice because most of the360's good games (like Bioshock, Gears of War etc.) are on the PC also. Whereas most of PS3's good games (R&C, MGS4, FFXIII, GT5) are only on PS3.PS3Compass

Depends. As someone who has mainly played PC games for the past 20 years I could not care less about those games (maybe GT5 but I wouldn't buy a console for a racer). If I liked those types of games I would have been a console gamer. For someone like me the only thing that could make me buy a console is the idea of having to wait for a stellar game like Mass Effect, which is the type of game I enjoy. The PS3 offers games that aren't normally found on PC and that's the exact reason it would never appeal to me.

Depends on whether or not you can wait for Mass Effect to come to PC. I can't and the 360 is relatively cheap.

However 20 FPS is a bit low for a FPS. I would play on medium to get over 30 all the time. If the gameplay isn't good enough that the graphics need to be on high for the game to be interesting it's not worth playing anyway. Far Cry looked decent enough on medium settings and that is what I played it on when i completed it the first time.

Mass Effect will be because of the sheer variety in the visuals and the size and scope. Currently I would say Gears of War is still the best looking game, Halo 3 has it's moments but there is also parts of the game that don't look very good.

Halo 3 isn't on PC but to play Gears you wouldn't need a very powerful PC. $500 would be my guess if you aren't buying a moniter or OS.

[QUOTE="ndrliang2"]You know, I played the demo and I was not impressed. It was not bad by any means, but it was not not impressive (gameplay-wise)MadExponent

Compared to WHAT?

Halo 3, Orange Box and maybe even Bioshock. I don't play many FPS and haven't played the demo but I would assume he is referring these games since they were recently released and appear to be standout games in the genre... if reviews can be believed.

Man oh man. I am so pumped for this beast. I have a feeling it's going to absolutely blow away the haters.-Tretiak

The haters will persist regardless of what happens. Just look at Halo 3. 9.5, killer sales and very well received by other sites and it got more hate then just about any other game this year.
