The PS4 doesn't have 2cores for OS it was based on Killzone demo which used unfinish hardware and it was proven Audio was been done on the CPU when the PS4 has a sound chip on it.

Did you miss the other news about the cpu along with the OS and features memory allocation?

all that 'sharing', 'social', 'psn', and other features, and that is also going to eat up 2 of your 8 cores leaving only 6 cores for game developers to use to power their next-gen video games.

they only read things that helps their agenda.

I called it.......a bunch of demos and trailers and no hands on and them fanboys go googly eyed for that two games playable on the floor besides ac4 looks pretty but still having fps problems also multiplat ........hell killzone is a launch title and it wasnt playable but titanfall is doesnt that look suspicious to you?

The hardware is GCN and both consoles share the same architecture. I am sure for a very specific scenario that is correct but in real world games I doubt the ratio will be that good.

It won't be.

That would indicate a compression around 2000:1, even simple text files rarely get better than around 100:1 and there should be less you can do with textures to begin with since they should already be compressed on disc and trying to compress something that is already compressed is a fool's errand.

We're going to have to see some source so I can determine how you've misinterpreted things Tighaman, that sort of ratio wouldn't be close to achievable even with LZM compression (which is quite a bit better than what zlib uses).

whoa go watch the build conference with NVIDIA and Microsoft I didn't pull that out of thin air.

No he basically claim that PRT = hUMA you blind biased fanboy...

no prt is gonna be achieved through the hUMA design the same way like MS is using esram no advantage in that part and the only reason AMD is pushing it is because its their design they are trying to move pc to.

PRT is part of all GCN GPUs. To use it on the PC now requires you use the AMD_sparse_texture method in OpenGL. PRT is great for enabling higher resolution textures because the bulk of the texture data can reside in the large main memory pool and you can stream over the required texture data to the GPU without using up all of the GPU memory. PRT will not really benefit the consoles because the main memory and the GPU memory are one in the same. The ESRAM might come into play but with only 32MB available it is limited in what it can do for textures. hUMA will be useful for doing interactive physics where the GPU can process a chunk of data, throw it back to memory for the CPU to update the simulation state. I am sure they will find other uses for it but proper, interactive physics is what I hope they use it for.

hUMA will benefit greatly heterogenous compute,which on PS4 Cerny say they were pushing for,PRT is just a way to save memory,hUMA benefit the whole hardware.

Actually what i am typing here is my word dude,is very easy to see since i have such a bad gramma...

Amd use this design so they can utilize prt without maxing out resources like I said it amd design and this what they moving ahead with the esram design was not theirs it was Microsoft way that's why they going with Sony because it's AMD design they happy that Sony chose their design like I said they're more happy that Sony has finally got with the program
