Would they? Wow I though the GTX280 and ATI 4870 were on the same level not the 260 and 4850 Thanks for the knowledge

Also, Yea ive got a 23" HDTV 720p / 1080i but ive got itlooking perfect on my old PC using 1024 x 768

Games look great, my eye need to get used to widescreen and im gonna mke the text size bigger, but everything else is perect :-)

Well if thats the resolution your looking to be playing in a 4850 would do you well but for some future proofing and if you wanna raise resolution in the future a GTX260/4870 would also be good.

Aye the GTX280 is a good bit faster then it would go the GTX260 216 then the 4870 with the orignal GTX260 just behind that. . . not much between them.

Well to start off is you think the ATi 4870 might be a waste of money then so is the GTX260 as they would full into the same level of performance more or less.

What size screen is your HDTV im not sure as to why you think a lower level graphics card is the way to go? Sure if its 19inch to 22inch yeah but if its 32inch or more the better the graphics card you will need as the TV could go upto 1080p.

Yahtzee is a complete idiot.

He doesn't know how to play games. He doesn't know what he likes in games. He doesn't even know what he hates in games. He's not funny. He's not even a good game designer.

I don't know why I still watch his videos, though.

Why do you then?!

No.

But Saints Row 2 is.

More people have been having performance issues with Saints Row 2 on the PC than GTA4 so dont be sending him down that route :P But apparantly the newest patch like GTA4 has giving it a big increase in performance.

Since patch 1.2 the game has had a nice little performance boost for me but even still with my rig at 1440x900 with all details very high except view distance at 32 i will still get slow down when there is alot going on. So if your PC is as slow as your saying i would say hold off or get it on console like biggest_loser suggested.
