@CynicalCaviar Yes, but the guy said he wanted an informed opinion...and apparently you can only have an informed opinion on this if you have a lot of experience in -working- with it. At least, he didn't disagree with me when I said that was what he meant.
@Yomeidient My reply didn't seem to get through... Anyway, I bought 2 games in the recent Steam sale, so yes. Steam is doing very well with prices. But sadly that doesn't mean every service is. Look at Origin...
@CynicalCaviar ...Are you saying that there are a great deal of people who work in digital distribution among the commenters of this article? Not sure if I can believe that until proven.
@Yomeidient Yes...in fact I purchased 2 games in the most recent Steam sale. Steam is doing a great job with prices, but that doesn't mean everyone is. Look at Origin.
@grognard @northArrow Correct. But then if you want informed opinions, this obviously isn't the correct place. I'm afraid your expectations will never be met.
@acerx7 It's true that having a physical copy does give you more of a feeling of ownership, yeah. However, I personally have no issue with buying games like Journey, Okami HD etc. digitally. It saves me room on my shelf (though not on my hard drive).
Actually, let me correct that, did you know that if you import Okami HD's physical version, it actually uses up more memory on your PS3 than the digital download? That made me lol so hard. XD
@Mega_Loser You'd certainly hope so. Personally I have a hard time believing they would make good on that promise, considering the stunts developers have pulled already recently. Right now the difference in price between physical and digital can be huge and unless that's taken care of, you can count me out for the "future".
But if the prices become reasonable and the internet works well for everyone, yeah then you have a way into that "future".
@Vienreich ... Really? You're saying that borrowing a game from a friend is the same as piracy? I won't comment on the rest of your post, because I disagree with it but it's your opinion, but that bit is something I really don't understand. Enlighten me, please.
