@goggles123456 Personal experience is something that's personal and not shared between everyone, and for good reason. You don't have to play the game if you don't wish to experience it.
And never call "death" an okay thing. It isn't a release from anything but your life, the end of the line.
yes, you need to detach yourself from reality, because GTA is a game, not a real thing. And it never aims to be, it mostly just makes fun of real life scenarios.
And if you'd like to know, Trevor was actually forced to do that torture by the FIB ( GTA equivalent of FBI). When the job was done instead of killing the torturee like he was supposed to he bailed him out and took him to the airport to escape. Quoting:
Victim: " But you tortured me, why are you releasing me?"
Trevor: " I wasn't doing it because I wanted to. We had to extract the information out of you"
Victim: " I would have told you EVERYTHING!"
Trevor: " I know you would've. But torture isn't for the sake of getting what we need. It's torture for the sake of torture. Or torture for the sake of the torturer.
Or torture for the sake of the torturee, but then he has to pay for it."
@hoplayletsplay First, you don't "have" to hold R1 to view EVA's boobs. The scene goes fine without viewing EVA's boobs, holding R1 to view them is just bonus fanservice that's completely unecessary for the cutscene, just an extra. What you are complaining about is not necessity, but convenience, to which I say, holding the R1 button for 10 seconds isn't that hard.
Yes, some games do interactivity bad. But this isn't the case with MGS usually, mostly because you almost never have to do it, it's a bonus for YOU, to enhance the experience. You only HAD to survive the torture in Peace Walker, and while at the time I cursed and spat and spouted all sorts of foul words at the little PSP screen trying to pass that nightmare, I now look back at those moments with great nostalgia, it wasn't just another pass-by game I play and move on to the next scene. It was a memorable moment.
@Jebril @Sheik2 @sladakrobot Oh you're all just a bunch of whiners. The torture scene in GTAV was awesome and intense. And yes, Trevor is an insane psycopath, the player needed to feel it.
I can't mash my buttons like a maniac and break my fingers completely anymore?!
where's the torture here then?! I think the way the torture scenes tortured the palyer himself was great, it was an intense way of making the player feel closer to the character and feel the pain along with him, it made connecting to that scene alot more meaningful.
Goodness, Do I remember the Peace Walker torture scene... Monstrous. I stayed up all night and went to bed with numb fingers and tears. Shit was insane.
