2008 was the year of the PS3 and the Xbox360 because of Metal Gear Solid 4, Fable 2, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, and Gears of War 2.

It was also the year of both Xbox360 and Playstation 3 for multiplatform games that where unavailable on the Wii.

Most gamers will agree that Xbox360 and Playstation 3 do not compliment each other very well, because most games available on Playstation 3 can be played on Xbox360 and visa versa.

This is why most people have reason to believe that the Wii is only good as a secondary console.

Because both 360 and PS3 gamers have Wii's as secondary consoles, Wii ends up selling more units.

Read this bit carefully because this is how Industry works. The console with the most hardware shipped gets the most game announcements, and because Wii is unique more often than not these games are Exclusive.

Right. As more exclusives are announced, the validity of the Wii as a secondary console becomes apparent.

The neverending circle continues. (This is called "Oroboros") As more exclusive games are released on the Wii, it's viability as a secondary console becomes more obvious as gamers decide that they don't want to miss out on the latest Tenchu, the latest mad game with the Wii controller, or the number of future announcements that will benefit from Oroboros.

Therefore as trend dictates the Wii sells even more units as a Secondary console and therefore more game announcements. As games accumulate the number of households who buy Wii as a primary console increases.

In 2-3 years time, late adopters to the console market will observe the state of consoles and see Wii has benefited from the aforementioned philosophical oroboros. At this stage it will become the primary console on the market. Nintendo will have won the war.

The topic seemed to imply that it would be a title that would make everyone want a DS rather than a PSP.
