Should I Just Quit This Site?

It's been forever, hasn't it TV.com? Well, lots of things have happened to me since I last came here years ago. College has really been time consuming. But I'm not in college now...because my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer. I took the semester off in order to cope and help out. He died back in May. Add this to some horrible family drama that I would rather not get into and some emotional issues I'd rather not get into and you get one messed up ToonGal. I took an additional semester off just to deal with this crap. I have some time now. Well, until January, at least. I've started to use my old Gaia Online account more, and I'm enjoying it. The same can't be said for my TV.com account, however. I think I've completely lost interest in this site. I think most people may have forgotten me by now, so it wasn't easy to come back. (I was never well-known on Gaia, so it was easier to go back to it I guess. Well, I wasn't that well-known here either save for the ATLA board. But whatever. :P) The thing is, I'm not sure that I'll ever make a full return to this site (if I make a return at all). If I don't, then I would like to say thanks to all my friends here. You all have given me some great memories. ;) If any of you have an account on Gaia, my username is Mysterious_Eyes.

College Bureaucracy *sigh*

I have a nice little story to tell you. Why don't you get some popcorn and enjoy? :P It all started with a student refund check I received last Friday. It seemed to me that I wasn't getting as much money back as I should have. So I called the financial aid office for my college on Monday. It turned out that a scholarship (one that was supposed to pay full tuition) and a grant had not gone through yet. I wasn't very worried about the grant, but I was definitely worried about the scholarship. I was told that the reason that it hadn't gone through yet was because I needed a housing waiver. Yet when I asked about the waiver a couple of months ago, they said that I didn't need one because I was going to a regional campus (i.e. not the main campus, but a local one affiliated with the main campus). I was then transferred to housing after I explained my situation. After explaining again, the secretary said that she'd call me back. I never got that call. I called again on Tuesday. I had to explain the situation again and I almost had to talk to financial aid again. Again I was told that I would get a call back. This time I did, from the director...at least I think it was the director...or some higher position XD. She believed that the whole thing might have been a computer error and told me that she would talk to the secretary in financial aid. Again (Wow, I'm using this word a lot, aren't I?), no call. Today, I refused to call them back because I felt it was a waste of time. And I was probably upping the phone bill due to long distance :P. I realize that there are many students they have to keep up with, but I just couldn't help feeling forgotten. Not to mention that it is annoying to been tossed back and forth between departments. It was pretty much "I don't know, go ask X department." *sigh* No matter how much I hate it, I know I'll have to call them again eventually. Gee, I feel like a Teletubby. Again, again! XD Will I ever get my questions answered? Tune in next week to Unsolved Mysteries! *eerie music from said show plays* *UPDATE 8/14/08: I've finally gotten everything sorted out. Whew.

10 Strange Things That Have Happened To Me

For your entertainment, here is the list mentioned in the title: 1. I once found a macaroni in a snack cake. 2. I did a calculus problem and the answer turned out to be my ZIP code. o_O 3. During the first airing of the Avatar episode "The Cave of Two Lovers" in my area, it had no sound for a period of time (I think this has happened to quite a few people, however). 4. I've seen a red grasshopper. It was probably some rare mutant or something. *shrugs* 5. I had a dream a few nights ago where I ate money and later threw it up. Perhaps I've seen that commercial where a woman eats five bucks (Was it for Subway?) one too many times? 6. I've watched What About Bob?. That within itself is a strange experience. 7. A bee once stung me just for passing by the flowers. 8. I've witnessed a game of condom balloon volleyball. It occured during my freshman year of high school while everyone was in the gym during a drug search. 9. I was randomly called to answer a survey concerning natural hair products. How do they get your number? 10. I've coughed and peed my pants at the same time. That was actually a hard list to come up with. I guess strange things don't happen to me that often. :P Oh well!

Looks Like I've Got Some Catching Up To Do...

I've probably been forgotten by now, but I'll make this post just for the heck of it ^_^. I've been abstaining from the TV.com for a number of reasons that I shall now list:

1. Boredom with the forums. Most of my surfing has just been to satisfy my curiousity about random topics, read fanfiction, and personality quizzes, among various things.

2. The hunk of junk that I own that is supposedly a computer. Let's do some math, shall we? Windows 98+Dial-Up Connection+32 MB RAM=Slow Surfing. I've found an ad-blocker (iRejectTrash) that helps speed things up a bit, however. If it wasn't for that app, I may not even be posting this.

3. Avoiding spoilers. I've looked at the Avatar forums occasionally while at school. You can take it from there.

4. School. While not nearly as bad as my nightmare (Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating...) of a junior year, my senior year did provide a few distractions. *cough*Portfolios*cough*

...And that's about it. Thus, here comes a list of things I need to announce:

1. On the night of May 29, 2008, I was freed from the public school system. Too bad college is next...

2. I AM NOW 18!!!

3. I've adopted a stray cat that I have named Lucky. Aliases include Kitty-Kitty Meow-Meow, Boo-Boo Kitty, and Poo-Poo Kitty. She's...unique, to say the least.

4. I've been "lurking" (without logging in) around the Avatar forums for about a week now and I've noticed that there has been some conflict with the mods. All I know is that it involves someone known as Lisa getting banned because her account was hacked or something. Have things really gotten that bad while I was gone?

5. Avatar Series Finale= One of the Most Awesome Things That I Have Ever Seen. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed when Aang decided to use spiritbending instead of killing Ozai, but I later realized that the ending was very suited to Aang's character. It also gives the kiddies a good message: violence doesn't solve all problems.

Well, I guess that's it. I won't be making any promises about a permanent return, but things look good. Ta-ta for now! ^_^

The Obligatory Indefinite Leave (i.e. School's Back in Session Tomorrow)

First off, I apologize for not being on as much as I had said I would be. I'm just losing interest in the forums. Plus, one of the things I am very bad at is oraganizing time wisely-I either do something too much or not enough XD. And my computer is super slow. And...*people throw tomatoes at me*

Okay, I'm done with the excuses. School starts back tomorrow for me, unfortunately. Well, at least I'm a senior. BOO YAH!!! *clears throat* We're changing the schedule format from 4 classes that change after Christmas (at the beginning of the new semester) to 7 classes year round. I remember people complaining about the change before summer vacation, but middle school was like this, so I expect that they will get over it. But I do partially blame this new system for screwing up my schedule. When I picked it up a few days ago, there were 3 classes I didn't sign up for, including one I had already taken. It was a computer glitch, but one of the classes in question (a regular literature class instead of Literature Special Topics) was on there because Literature Special Topics was at the same time as Calc II. At least with the old system, you could take a class in either semester, giving you less of a chance to sign up for 2 classes that are in the same period. Oh well, good thing I got it fixed before tomorrow.

Well, enough of my jabbering about things no one really cares about. See ya whenever TV.com!

I have weird dreams...

I had this dream last night. It was probably the result of reading a certain blog about whether ZacharyTyler was the real deal. Well, here it goes...

I was in an art classroom that resembled the one in my old elementary school, despite the fact that everyone was a teenager. We were expecting the normal art teacher (who, although my memory is fuzzy, seemed to be the art teacher I had in elementary school as well). Instead, we were instructed by *drum roll*...MIKE DIMARTINO AND BRYAN KONIETZKO!!! The weirdest part was that Bryan didn't look like what I saw in the Nick Extras segment: He was tan with spiked up hair. Mike looked like himself. Anyway, the class cheered and we were split into groups to do an Avatar art project. We had to draw flags or something to represent our fandom. My group did a flag with colors representing each element (red for fire, blue for water, green for earth, and either white or light blue for air..I can't remember) in vertical stripes on each side with a picture of a gory fight scene in the center. Bryan started getting impatient when people weren't finishing fast enough and he yelled at everyone. I nearly cried and when he looked at me, he calmed down. Then another class came in and Bryan said that he was Mike DiMartino (Mike was gone for some reason). Then he farted and said he was a lawyerin the "fart division". Then it ended.

Yeah, I have weird, random dreams. Comments on this and any other blog I've made will be appreaciated. It doesn't seem like anyone reads these things anymore other than sluggmunki (thanks by the way). I don't want to type this stuff for no reason.

So video gamers are mental?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19354827/

Some people may have seen this at GameSpot or have already made a blog about it, but I'm voicing my opinion anyway ;).

Singling out video game addiction and attempting tomake it a mental disorder seems to be quite unfair to me. You can be overly obsessed with anything. Just look at fangirls :P. If video games get this treatment, why not T.V. shows? Or books? Or sports? Or trading cards? Speaking of trading cards, back when Pokemon was the king of fads, why weren't millions of hyper children owning binders full of the popular TCG cards checked into mental hospitals?

Okay, maybe some of the hobbies above don't get as severe as video gaming (or perhaps it's just not publicized...) and maybe a few Pokemon kids did get some counseling. The point is that the group trying to get this done is, whether intentionally or not, putting video games in a bad light. I guess this goes to show you that people will always overreact to something they are unfamiliar with. This should definitely be researched further before action is taken, and if anything is added to the diagnostic manual, IMO it should be just a general obsessive interest disorder. Of course, if they do add this so-called mental disorder, then I have a suggestion for a name for it: Lasting Addiction toand Brutishly Excessive Love of Electronic gaming Disorder. Odd name, but there is a reason behind it. *hint hint*

Note: I wasn't bashing Pokemon or Pokemon fans. In fact, I still love the games.

Summer=FREEDOM!!!

I was set free on the last day of May, and boy do I feel...well, free. Nothing to do this summer have fun. I got wise and picked classes that had no summer work...:D. I don't regret taking the A.P. classes with the exception of U.S. History-it wasn't very interesting until after the A.P. Exam and we started talking about nuclear weapons. That says a lot about my interest in history, doesn't it? :P

Other stuff I need to mention: I'm gonna be a senior next year and I'm dying to know when season 3 of Avatar starts. So yeah...*runs off and yells "Expect me to be on more often!"*

Merry Christmas! (2006)

As I post this, it's still Christmas, so...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AT TV.COM!!! ^_^

...Yeah, should've done it this morning. Also, I know that I had promised that I would be back during Christmas Break, but I've been preoccupied with stuff ^_^;;. I've been getting kinda bored with this site lately, but don't expect a permanent leave or anything. Maybe I'll be back more frequently someday.

It's been forever...

I haven't been very active on TV.com lately. It seems like every time I get free internet time I end up going to Gaia (which used to be my less active site). I'll try to be on here more often when I have free time. Maybe Christmas break? And to end this blog with a few random comments: the season finale of Avatar was AWESOME, pizza is good, I want a snow day, and Big Brother is watching you (haven't read 1984, but we're getting ready to in A.P. English ^_^)!
