@MAD_AI @queuing_for_PS4 @Total_mischief They won't always rely on DirectX. Valve is working to make Linux viable for gaming. I don't think we'll be using the OS for gaming anytime soon, but I'm pretty sure it will come.
@queuing_for_PS4 @MAD_AI @Total_mischief You're the one that shouldn't get too excited. Apple is dominating Microsoft when it comes to portable device, but Microsoft is still way, way, way ahead of Apple when it comes to desktops and laptops. Tablets will probably take over laptops, but even then Microsoft has made it's entrance in that area now. I'm far from being an MS fan, but that's how it is.
@queuing_for_PS4 The only time Microsoft will lose their PC market is when gaming is made available and ready on Linux. And Valve is working on that I think.
@tightwad34 Games don't get delayed when they're finished, they get delayed when they're not finished. Usually. With that in mind, read the article again and try to understand.
I find it funny how they're both (MS and SONY) trying to become the ultimate entertainment device, eliminating the need for other stuff and bla bla bla. Real gamers will have both consoles and possibly a PC. Consoles for respective exclusive, PC for the rare exclusive and the higher quality versions, mods and more free stuff. There's no such thing as a console war. Every gaming platform has some cool stuff, but they can't beat the SNES.
