First of all, I had to take a pic for proof, because if someone else told ME this story, I would NOT believe them. I've been a console fan all my life. Yeah, i played PC classics, but nothing new with crazy requirements that all the hermits brag about. I would have loved to dip into the PC world a while ago, but unfortunately, the steep "entry-level" price is what always got in the way.

Now..... I will finally (within the next week) be able to tell you how great it really is to be a hermit, and how much the experience varies from console gaming. Yes, ladies and gents, christmas came a little early this year for me. And I have a total idiot to thank for it.

This younger kid (I'm 22) that lives really close to me got a xmas present from his father-in-law. He said it was stupid videocard or something, and he was mad because his PC couldn't use it. He was really ticked about it, and mainly blamed his dad being so stupid to buy him some "crap" that wouldn't even work on his computer. Well, to make a long story short, I became interested after discovering what the card was, and told him I'd give him my copy of COD4 and $50. He thought that was an incredible deal, and judging by his attitude, he thought he was making out on the deal because i was giving him "so much".

Well.... I just have to say: I, for once in my life, can say that I LOVE stupid people. I hope the kid enjoys COD4 and spends his $50 well.

I really havent seen any screenshots to justify Uncharted as the clear winner in graphics. Maybe post some screenshots next time you make such a claim? As for ME, Mass Effect looks amazing, best graphics? No. Is it more impressive than Uncharted on a visual standpoint? Yes. Having that amount of detail in graphics with a world that huge is most impressive.Vis-a-Vis

I'm about to leave work, so I don't have the time to post picture or better yet, comparison pictures, but I'll break down what made GeoW so pretty, and what stood out, and how I feel uncharted has beat it.

Gears was definitely known for it's textures. I don't think gears would be nearly as popular (graphic-wise!) if it didn't have as good textures as it does. I definitely feel, though, that uncharted has it beat in this area. There are realistic looking textures almost everywhere, and in several places, you have stop and look at them in awe because they're so nice. Like the ground.

Uncharted definitely has gears beat as far as models. Gears has nice models, but uncharted as far more polygons which results in more realistic looking human beings. I notice gears uses textures to try to cover up where it's lacking in polygons. Like, the neck and face areas of the characters.

The animation of Uncharted is, IMO, much better than that of gears. It's fluid and realistic looking.

Grr.. I have to go. But those are some important areas of Uncharted and GeoW's graphics... and while words aren't as good as pictures, I hope I've explained how Uncharted looks better, without adding too much opinion or what I favor.

In a way, yeah. I'm not saying the ps3 has gone from last to first.... but honestly.... Before playing uncharted, i was honestly thinking the ps3 itself was a flop of a console, and it would not prove itself as far as technical feats, or as far as an awesome gaming console. While the ps3 has a way to go before it's an "awesome gaming console", Uncharted atleast gave me a little hope that the ps3 is atleast capable of delivering. Now it's just a matter of doing it.

Hopefully that will better explain how I'm feeling. Basically my old opinion of the ps3 was.... pretty dismal. Yeah, getting a 8.0 game isn't the second coming of christ, but considering the position the console was in before the game came out.... that hope almost feels like a turn-around.

God I hope I'm not coming off as a cow or ps3 fanboy.... I might have to kill myself. Trust me, I'm not.

I'm most definitley impressed with ME's visuals. The only thing I worry about, is the game's framerate suffers a decent amount of the time... Not the end of the world, but does that mean ME is really pushing the limits? I hope not, because I was looking forward to games still looking better and better on the 360, given it should have a lot of life still in it.

Despite your attempt at being funny, you'd be suprised by how many people still post threads saying GeoW STILL is the best looking console game, and better than uncharted. There was a huge thread about it yesterday, and many people said this.

In my eyes, the ps3 has redeemed itself, and has proven it's capabilities with Uncharted. I can easily say that I go where the good games are, and up until now, I haven't been going to the ps3, even though I own one. At one point, i was looking forward to Uncharted, but due to all of the flops and disappointments, it fell off of my radar. But, after downloading and playing the demo yesterday...
