your GPU is within tolerance. You CPU I think is a issue is your hitting 50C in mostly idle fashion.. I have a feeling your CPU is adding ALOT of heat inside the case which is probably making the gpu jump in proportion as you play a more intense application/game, program... What is the q6600 temp when playing say witcher 2? What kind of case is this? How is your ventilation prepared? Are you on a stock cpu heatsink? What is the temperature of the room your computer sits in?jedikevin2

The CPU temperature when playing Witcher 2 is about 60C. I am using this case. There should be plenty of airflow because the case is huge and I bound most of the wiring together. I am using the heatsink that came with the processor, so I guess it is stock. The room is about 70 degrees.

The GPU is about four inches from the bottom of the case, so basically the fan is blowing into the metal base. There are a few small holes into the base for some airflow. Not sure if this would be a problem.

Greetings,

I was wondering about the heat coming from my PC. I am not sure whether it is normal or if I have something to worry about.

When casually on my PC, the temperature of my CPU (Intel Q6600) hovers around 50C. The motherboard is usually around 40C. This new video card I just installed (Geforce GTX 560 Ti) also stays around 40C at approximately 35% fan speed.

When playing the Witcher 2 with settings near maximum, however, the GPU temperature can skyrocket to about 85C at roughly 85% fan speed. Is it safe to play games at those temperatures?

Thank you,

Turtlecream

How do you not know anything about the police?

Ilovegames1992

I mean he asked specifically about that department, not the police in general.

Greetings,

I applied for an unpaid internship at a police department. With the goal of an internship being to learn more about what you are applying to, I worried more about specific questions such as, "What is your greatest weakness" and, "What are your strengths", completely forgetting about a key one and therefore being unprepared.

Anyway, I made the most elementary mistake: I did not research the department I was applying to. The very first question was, "What do you know about this police department?" I stumbled and could only say, "I don't know."

He then said, "Well, then why do you want to work here?" I told him about how I wanted to do it for the learning experience and how I planned to work for the department in the future.

Everything else in the interview went smoothly (for the most part). He said about half of the applicants will be getting the position.

What do you all think? Is there something specific I should do or should I just suffer and wait?

There was this one girl that seemed to like me, and she asked if I had a girlfriend. I wanted to be funny so I said, "No, but it's alright because I have my dog." She did not understand the joke and took it the wrong way.

Never saw her again.

Psychology is not a good major choice ... unless you are planning to attend graduate school.

If you want to get into the gaming industry, you should major in something like computer science or information technology. This way, if you are unable to get a job related to game development (which is extremely probable), you will still have an exceptional degree for other opportunities.

I would not get a college degree in something like game development because it is too narrow.

Let us pretend something terrible just happened to you. What do you do to make yourself feel better? This would, of course, exclude ... you know, because that is obvious.

Anyway, personally I load up Heroes of Newerth and watch replays of matches that I won from the enemy's viewpoint to see them rage.
