The 60 and 20 gig models are backwards compatible. No new Ps3 systems can play ps2 games, just Ps1. the 20 gig has a ps2 in it, the 60 gig. emulates.(if i'm wrong on the 60 gig then its the 80gig). ...So no. the bundle will NOT be ps2 BC.

*edit--apparently i'm wrong on the BC in the bundle.

Wow!! people amaze me. I am assuming Uncharted only "supports" 720. just because your Tv can display a higher resolution, doesn't mean the game plays at that. If uncharted doesn't support 1080 then it "wil not" play in 1080 no matter what your TV says.

Well whatever you do, don't use those disk cleaners. they ruin the clear coating on the blueray PERMANENTLY.

Well any sony TV works well with a sony PS3, but just so you know, the only 1080p you'll be using is bluray and like 2 games. Almost all PS3 games are 720. i haven't played a 1080p game yet, so i can't tell you if the difference is big enough for a new TV, but blu-ray certainly is.

Yes, my TV, a 40" samsung automatically sets the conversion, as in my Bluray plays in 1080p and the games play in 720. so it sounds like your Tv is converting to the highest possible resolution.
