Halo is weird. CE had a decent story and Halo 2 went and screwed things up. Sure its story had loads of potential but in the end it turned into a complete cluster **** imo.

Deus Ex also had an exellent story. Deus Ex 2 did aswell - but pity the game sucked. Probably the best story in an FPS game.

But yea MGS's is exellent. Not many games make such an impression through story. Deus Ex and MGS made a huge impact on me, as did HL.

I can honestly say though that after playing the MGS games my standards for stories in videogames have increased greatly so thats why when some ppl refer to some stories as decent they are less than mediocre to me.

And im not trying to flame or anythign here but whats so great abou the Halo story. Please no flaming or anything at all. Ive played CE and did everything except the last 2 missions(borrowed game from cousin but he wanted it back). Up till that point the story was moving really slow and it was kinda boring. Unless the story did a crapload of stuff during the last 2 missions then I thought it was boring. I have never touched the Halo2 campaign since Ive heard its pure crap gameplay and storywise so I cant expect anything better plotwise there can I?

brute Force -although i did enjoy MP, campagin sucked, every level was the same just in a different area.

Halo2 -it was a good game, but i expected much more. MP was great, and ccampaign, well the only reason i liked it was because of the storyline, the halo seriesdefinately has the beststory IMO.

Don't let MGS2 ruin the whole franchise for you. I think that one was the lowpoint in the series. You fanboys can go ahead and maul me for 'not understanding teh greates story evar!!!1' and whatnot, I don't care. I understood the story, and I think I would have enjoyed it better if I HADN'T.

Anyways, give the first one a try or any of the MGS3 ones. They are miles better, in my opinion.

Agreed even though I like mgs2 a lot I think the other 2 are better. And if you are gonna play mgs3 make sure its subsistence your playing not snake eater because subsistence has a good camera while snake eater has a camera that makes the game barely unplayable.

1. Gears of War-Singleplayer was AMAZING but was so short:(, Multiplayer was just plain horrible.

2.Halo-After all the hype and "best fps ever" I thought the game was a little over mediocre after playing it.

3.MGS:Twin Snakes-Even though I liked this game a lot I hated how they destroyed the cutscenes by making them cheesy matrix things.

4.Generals-Red Alert 2 was a lot better

5.Oblivion-Just not a game for me I guess BUT I can see why other ppl enjoy it.

6.Super Mario Sunshine-TOO BORING

7.Killzone-Are you kidding me? This trash isnt even a pong killer.

8.Socom-I never could get into the online. Maybe its cause everyone else had been playing for years before me but still, I couldnt find any appeal in it at all.

edit: I forgot to add the BIGGEST dissapointment of all.

FFX-2-FFX is one of my fave games of all time and I was hyping the sequel and then I get some halfassed sequel.
