Anyways, you know what, I think MGO should go to live. I think mgs4 should remain exclusive but I want MGO to go to live because it will be played more there and it might make some ignorant lemmings want mgs and stop hating on it just because its exclusive. I hope MGS4 stays exclusive to ps3, I honestly think its its last chance with buyers from the hardcore market. Will add competition too xD

Wii: 150 million+
DS: 130 million +
PSP: 50 million +
Xbox 360: 30 million +
PS3: 25 million +

The market is definitely going to expand over last generation.

PS2 and GBC both sold over 115 million, and DS and Wii are easily ahead of that pace.

The PSP is selling very well in terms of hardware, having already sold over 22 million. The redesign and some big titles will boost that even more.

Xbox 360 is selling at a slightly better pace than the original Xbox, with Halo 3 on the way.

PS3 simply isn't selling very well. That doesn't mean it isn't a great system, but I don't see it in anywhere but last in terms of sales. It still gets beaten by GBA in America, Japanese sales are never above 15k weekly, and in Europe it only does about as well as 360. It doesn't have a large enough foothold in any of the markets.

Thing is though, ask any casual at all who doesnt already have a system and then say what system would you rather have if price wasnt in the question, they would say ps3. Basically, ps3 is wanted because of brandname and due to the misconception that it is a crapload more powerful than the 360 but the price drives ppl away. And I think all the Japanese are just waiting for Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo to come out to buy a ps3. Like Ive read a lot of Japs say they will get one when FF13 comes out. They eat those games man. I really dont see ps3 doing bad in the long run, it has too much of brandpower to lose out.

Here is where it stands currently: 20+ million units behind the DS, abysmal software sales(due to piracy?), and a failed media format(UMDs)

Verdict? Flop, since it fell far below expectations.

I think this gen is gonna end like this:

Wii at 60 mill units

PS3 at 50 mill units

360 at 25-30 mill units

I think 360 will do steadily okay(not good or bad) for the rest of the gen. PS3 sales WILL speed upwhen price drops follow because a)brandname b)once price is taken out the question, it is the most desirable system for any casua. I think Wii will keep doing good but will slow down a bit.

I think that Hideo Kojima steals first place for popularity by a long lead, go to any gaming site and mention him, people will know who he is and for some reason whenever new mgs info comes out theres at least a 100 ppl saying bow to kojima or hail kojima or something on that note:P

Alright everyone, the psp is NOT a flop.

Recent NPD says it sold over 200,000, I think it was around the 220k mark but im not sur. If you dont know, thats a crapload and that was in the US alone. PSP is selling great, whether youd like to accept it or not. Hell, the only thing that ever beats it in sales are the wii and ds(both are monsters btw:P) and sometimes the ps2. The psp is selling great, it already has a 25mill base. Please stop comparing it to the ds when you call it a flop. The ds is destroying it but does that make the psp less desirable at all, no. The psp is making big bucks for sony and I think sony are content with the psp right now. I dont think the psp will ever reach or surpass ds in terms of sales but its doing good on it own right. I think by the end of its life, psp will have sold at least 40 mill. The thing sony has to concentrate right now should be selling software, not psps. I think if they want to make ever more money, theyre gonna have to sell more software for psp since its software sales are abysmal due to a)lack of good games b) huge ass homebrew community(me being one of them but I buy games that are good to show support for developers:P).

Basically the psp is doing amazing but the ds is doing super duper ultra recharged alpha crazy amazing and when comparing their sales it just makes psp look worse.
