Does anyone know the 790GX motherboard? It has Ati HD 3300 IGP, and presumably you can crossfire it with 4850 to boost it even further. While I'm not waiting miracles from it, its interesting for it is kind of free. Perhaps that IGP could calculate physics so gpu could just concentrate on graphics.

My brother has "MSI NVIDIA 8800GTS 640MB OVERCLOCK"-card and tried to connect it to his HD Ready Philips via DVI, which was otherwise very nice, but the picture didn't show wholly. The Start Menu and apparently both sides didn't fit into the tv-screen. What should he do?

[QUOTE="Varoennauraa"]Or get amd's coming(soon) motherboard, with integrated ati hd 3300. I hear you could put, for example, two ati hd 3670's there. I'm thinking to get this kind of update myself. Its a bit tricky, but quite affordable.Angry_Bosmer

Why, one 8800GT could kick it's as*.

Yeah! What was I thinking!?!? You asked best! I'm updating my whole PC and for me it seem that this kind of approach will be cost effective. Sorry for bad advice :)

Still one 8800GT is probly MUCH less expensive.

(I think Ati HD 3870 is even less expensive ;)

Youre right. But I have to get new processor too :( Im trying to survive a year or two with a minimal update, and thinking to make more ambitious update later, perhaps when next Windows arrives. Im keeping my budget as small as possible, and yet aiming to play modern games. I have somewhat older computer and I must to change my motherboard too. Then Amds "new" IGP trickery came to my attention. Perhaps Amds 4 core Phenom will be nice enough to run some games, but I hope it will seriously boost my music and graphics editing software. After processor and motherboatd, I don't have much money left for 3d-card. I'm hoping that the coming 790GX motherboard will help a midrange 3d-card(perhaps ati hd 3670, if they are compatible) to squeeze me to playable framerates with its hd 3300 IGP. Im trying to fool myself to believe this is possible with 250€. +later, when Far Cry 2 arrives, I'm hoping that these 3670's are even more affordable.

Look my sig. If you reserch my board you'll that I can't a P4 CPU higher than 3.0Ghz. My board is AGP too, so thats bad. Just save up to a 8800 GT or GS. Or do like me: I just made a 1400$ build witch I'll save up for.

em...excuse me. Im not english speaking, and didn't quite understand that. 8800 GT is not going to help me in music nor is 8800 GS :P +Im going to make a powerfull pc with under 300€. I don't think anyone should make big investments at this moment, since every manufacturer has something new just around corner.

I'm going to get Phenom too! I got a little excited in AM2s integrated graphics chip, which is isurprisingly capable and could be crossfired! So its not gonna run Crysis by itself ofcourse, but I hope it could give my somewhat older Ati a helping hand, and whats best, for free. I am hoping to update my old PC with a mere 200
