Judging from the amount of copies of CODMW2 sold, and how many people bought the 15$ map pack: I can say one thing for certain... 75% of the people on these forums are lying to us. Everyone bad mouths Call of Duty MW2, but obviously most of the bad mouthers have bought it and have bought the map packs. It's pathetic. These people are, in my eyes, helping to destroy gaming.
The entire gaming industry is becoming more and more generic, and people realize this, but they still continue to buy these terrible mindless cookie-cutter shooter games. Why? Is it really that hard to take a stand? The more copies of Killzone, Call of Duty, or Crysis are sold then more clones of these games are going to be made. They are flooding the market, and it's upsetting. Better games are getting low to almost no recognition because games like MW2 and Killzone suck up all the hype and press. These games substitute artistic direction with graphical realism, and they gimp gameplay to focus on primal instict.
I say that we should all take a stand: Stop buying generic shooter games so developers can usher in a new-age of creative and artistic video game developing.
Remember, all the time that goes into making clone shooter games could be going into making something better... and isn't that what gamers want? Something new, something that challenges them, something beautiful, something amazing? STOP BUYING SHOOTER GAMES. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
